I feel your pain guys, you think its bad for a barb try playing a knight for a while. We dont have ONS or Roar only 2 knocks Kick and Feignt (good luck getting close enough to a hunter to use on of those) and we dont hit nearly as hard. Add to that our buffs have been nerfed to the point we have to turn our backs on a battle for them to be effective for our mates. Personal defensive buffs have been shown to be practically useless(re: caution) .
Unless we corner an archer we have almost no chance of even hitting him, forget defeating one. yeah warriors might as well be eliminated from the game in the current incarnation, just give mages and archers a "door bash" spell and we are obsolete entirely. Of course we'll hear the standard retorts from the spell and arrow classes but of course they'd be deprived of our "meals on wheels" rp feast. I've come to the conclusion that the only real way to balance this would be to eliminate every class's speed buff, including ONS and SPRING. Then if a hunter or mage decides to backpeddle and continue attacking they would risk melee combat, then we'd have a chance.

Imho the solution would be to give warriors a pasive skills that makes them sighly faster while near a enemy (~15) And dissable wild spirit while near a enemy.
Anyway.. Old speed = 100. New speed = 120. 1.15*100 = 115 New speed + Wild Spitit = 135. Thats it a passive onslaught assuming the enemy is not moving.

Can we try not posting solutions to a problem and just discuss observations here?

To me, there are still two decent uses for this skill that i've seen lately: first, as a means of transport. Yup, it can be used like before, although you need more barbs and a coordination miracle (I've seen it working and when people manage to pull it off it turns a bunch of people into quite a steamroller). Second, it provides an important damage boost to everyone's next attack, be it every archer in the group, a pack of warroirs about to cast their area spells, or the ones that are bringing down a door. Multiply 150 dmg by everyone next to you and send that damage to the enemy forces in any way you'd like to imagine. Roll it again as many times as barbs in your group. It's a great support power if you ask me.
Now, on the big picture (in a proper rvr scenario as a frame of reference), I'd like to propose a question, previous to any statement on the current situation of warriors and archers, ¿should the archer ever have any chance to get away? Hmm this turned into a balance thread alredy, even if it's in the inn :P |

I tired to Onslaught my buddies at very beginning of bridge, YES skill ended up before passing half of it. There is something definilty wrong with it. But I was using 1st lvl, because of previous observation 5lvl also does not help to reach fort before dieing.
Yes, I totally agree. Speed bonus should be removed from Onslaught description not to confuse new players for wasting their points. |

I think that this need an explication. After the changes of velocity i did some test and i got a base speed of about 5 m/s. The problem was that with return at lvl 5 i got less speed that 5*1.3=6.5 m/s (i dont remember exactly the result that i got), so i think that the buffs of speed are applied on the old base speed. i.e., if i´m not wrong, the new speed is as if the old speed would be still the base and all of us would have a permanent buff of +20%. So all speed buffs is applied on old base speed and give a plus of speed that is a % of it.
