It could help warriors, but i think there would be much more trouble as benefits.
There are better ways of giving classes their class identity than imposing such restrictions on them. Give each class an interesting class mechanic instead of restricting their equipment choices to such a point.

no... WotC are too young to be blamed.. you can blame:

http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Arneson

maybe tsr also
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactical_Studies_Rules

for strict classes separations...

otherwise classless games are not only of the "modern" era, in my
youth time there were also some:
- gurps (totally classless and skill based)
- chivarly and sorcery (classless and skill based, but very very cool to read
and play)

and online... the Father of all the mmorpg was classless... UOL

I think the image of a skinny mage wielding a giant ax or 2h spear is weird to say the least

also, we would have barbs with high lvl shields and knights with 2h weapons? another weird image, it just doesn't seem to fit in RO

Because nothing says "fun and good use of NGDs time" like balancing EVERY item across EVERY class amirite? The reasons these restrictions exist is to greatly simplify balancing and making items. Also will an archer who has trained his whole life to use a bow really want to equip heavy overburdening plate armor on while he is trying to shoot things?

Have you tried to use an old fashioned bow at a distance? Its tiring, now imagine that while heavily weighed down in metal plates. You couldn't do that reliably during a war for any amount of time. So instead of the developers going out of their way to allow an archer to wear plate armor with a negative so large that it wouldn't be worth wearing, how about we let them balance the combat and resolve the existing bugs?

I don't like the idea I think 1 class 1 wep is good if we all can have a sword suddenly hunters have no limits... Barbs got no limits when they be attacked they will be a knight with knight armor etc. than they will be hittet less and when they are at a target BAM!

I don't like the Overall Idea of having everyone with all weapons & armour.

But id like to See a Alternate Weapon for Each Class

Barbarians - Secondary Weapon -> Bow/Staff

Knight - Secondary Weapon -> Crossbow/Staff

Marksman - Secondary Weapon -> Short Sword

Hunters - Secondary Weapon - Short Sword

Conjurer - Secondary Weapon - Daggers

Warlock - Secondary Weapon - Daggers

And have 3-5 spells for each secondary weapon that cannot be lvled

So Mages & Archers would have little spells to Allow them to gain range from there enemy - (3 second stun - 3 second trip - 5 second dizzy - 1 power attack)

Warriors would have spells that would allow them to get into closer range to there enemies & Prevent them from getting away ( 5 second -movement speed - 3 second ambush - 3 second imobolize- 1 power attack)

of course make these secondary weapon choices weaker to there main weapon.

No one wants to see a barb doing 1k normals at 20 range with a bow :P

This could also introduce new items into the game

Klutu the way you put it seems like it could work out kinda cool, but I'd still rather NGD spent their time on more important updates right now. After a lot of major things are fixed I think adding more diversity would be great in weapons, skills, armor looks, characterlooks, theres tons of possibility and i think it adds to the game so lets set that as a future goal and focus on the now
