OpenGL is not slow ...its depends of code wrote for him.
Also targeting lots of VGA cards is the troble. For my NVidia 9500 GT works better with OpenGL in linux ..like with 30 fps more like in DirectX. Conclusion: -for some ppl works better with some cards on OpenGL. -for some people works better with DirectX. That means one engine what try to work with all VGA cards. When one code is wrote for dedicated hardware(usual VGA and CPU)..will work faster and and a few bugs. Note: -Also usual in Linux troble can come with precompiled version of vga drivers or kernel version. -After one friend told me "try to get source and compile vga drivers"...and i did.I gained more 40-50 fps. -Fps loss can come once with network connection with server.(on my pc works better with Mandriva like with Ubuntu for example) -And more others factors... So sorry for going off topic...but this is not one thread about OpenGL and DirectX or Linux and Windows. There are lots of environments and each people enjoy them and they will use what they like more. Please close this topic is irrelevant. I got my reply about this and there are not plans about this |

Macs here cost twice than in the US. And 4 pesos are worth a dollar. So yeah, there's a reason why macs are regarded as rich boy toys here.

No offense but thats what you get when you buy a Mac.
Mac's are not built for gaming. Macs are overpriced toys made by Apple that advertise as a revolutionary competitor to Windows. You could buy a normal notebook with 3x better performance for the same price as a MacBook that has outdated hardware. Infact, if you're buying a MacBook, most of the money usually goes to the pretty casing that is ultimately useless. Mac related products are generally inferior. Apple's market mainly attracts people that have no knowledge whatsoever in technology. You can spend an assload of money collecting gear and this is what you'll get. Wow you can spend $700 dollars for an iPad experience of Uno! Or you could spend $20 at Wal-Mart and buy the same card version! /endrant EDIT: Linux FTW. |

Yes is a offense...this thread is not Linux vs Windows vs MacOSX...
Your comment is just useless and not help someone. No need another thread about who and why is better. Reasons: -Windows users will say ...windows the best. -Linux users will say ...linux is best. -Mac users will say Mac is best... And from here infinite thread about ...and infinite argue... |

Thanks,
I've heard from some mac users that they could run packages and binaries from BSD ports. |
