I agree. Humans shouldn't really be 'the best' at anything.

Syrtis has "the best" archers because either Elf or Half-Elf have 30 Dex (25 Int for Eves, 25 Const for Half-Elves). Our mages suck: Alturians are just like Dark Elves and Wood Elves have 30 Int, 25 Conc, 25 Dex (oh so great evade chance), 5 wasted points; Our warriors can choose Alturian, 30 Str, 25 Const or Half-Elf, 30 Const, 25 Str, 25 Dex (again, wasted points on Dex). So yeah, our archer heritage sucks... Legolas FTL |

Why the hell do we need a 3rd mage race? Honestly, what kind of balance would it be, and storywise, what kind of plot would explain that a fearless barbaric culture would adopt such petty tricks? The Ignis side is renown for their mages because Sultar invented his "Sultar Terror", but the Syrtis hunters stole it and the Alsius Uthgars asked a loan from the Dwarves and bought that knowledge on the black market! Everyone knows that!

Do you really need another one? Is it really a big balance issue? I mean come on, sure Syrtis has 3 archers, but Alturians are pretty sucky at it, do you need a sucky 3rd one?
Anyway, +/-5 points here on 1 or 2 stats isnt going to sway a war.

Uma is right me and many more choosed race not by points, because when you start a game you do not know what stat really do, but by looks. That way i ended on a conju with Alturian which is not the best choice, but had no pointy ears. I really love my conju and do not care of initial stats. You can cope that differences by getting good gear anyway - now my conju have 3.2k HP and 1.9k Mana(Pool level 1) which is pretty good for a mage. Yes my warlock is better with better stats, but i hate the pointy ears. In fact Alturians are smaller than gelfs too which is a nice plus.
IF Alsius get a dwarf mage i will make one instantly. It will be cute and stelt in the melee what more you want.

Technically speaking, Alsius have the best warriors, Syrtis have the best archers and Ignis have the best mages which is appropriate.
But who the fuck cares? It's a 5 point difference. That's, what, 10 dmg? 45 mana? Play the race and realm you enjoy more, for the looks or for whatever. If you have to min/max every aspect of your gameplay and end up with a race you don't enjoy, grinding is going to be more boring and slower and you won't have the same amount of motivation when you RvR. |

I play Molok Knight. Challenging to play and I like it so. The 5 points went in Constitution which did not help too much. Does not matter. I am still irritating in fort wars.
I look forward to the ability to have access to all the jewellery in the game. I think everyone should look forward to that with relish. It will give you the opportunity to fiddle with your respective builds. As for Ignis being tough. It is a desert folks, you don't expect it to be a walk in the park do you? I have to walk with a tin of WD-40 every time I go out there. Artec |
