I don't like it.
I can understand that people transferring from RA to Horus might want the option, but I don't think it should be possible to change realms in one server.
It would make too many people go with the flow, and even with restrictions I don't think it's a good idea.

Also, even though I am not much of a role player, I do believe that each player has their own identity.
Allowing name change was bad enough, realm changes would be even worse in this regard.

Last, there are many complications like race, stats, items, quests, etc. that would need to be solved.
Imagine everyone grinding in Syrtis, because it might be easier, and then transferring to their realm of choice...

No matter how many people joined the petition, the only way NGD would be convinced is if they could get away with making it as expensive as the scrolls one buys to make level 50 in a new realm.

Actually it would have to be much much more expensive than that, because it will also save you huge amounts of time. A reasonable price would be somewhere around $150 per character.

I would be against this even if it would cost $1000 per character though. Realm transfers are against the nature of this very game. Learn to live with the choices you make, or bear the grind if you don't like what you chose.

Maybe next time you'll think twice before rage-quitting, realm-moving, char-wiping or whatever it is that is trendy nowadays.

People will go to the best/most active/etc realm, making another less populated.

Not really. Do you have any idea how much players from syrtis moved to alsius when alsius was the most underpopulated realm. Playing for the underdog realm is way more enjoyable imo.

No someone with a lot of items from one realm, would be able to transfer those items to another realm, combine them and break balance. Also identify of each realm would be hampered.

Non-storebought items could be 'confiscated by the TSA at the border' (you could be warned to give away your items before transferring, they won't come across), or at least, items that are specific to a realm.

Maybe only allow one or two items of each type, and don't allow transfers if you're overburdened, so you can't clean out a clan bank's supply of 800 Daen Rha bows and skip town. (Sorry, your checked baggage is en-route to Pago-Pago.)

I agree about realm identity if races could cross, make them pick a destination race that matches their class. (May need to throw in plastic surgery and a re-do of the initial skill points).

I'm not sure a lot of people would transfer under these conditions, but people who are desperate to get out of a fetid green realm they don't like, or just really want to feel the icy chill air of a new realm would have the opportunity.

IMHO, it would be a bad idea to implement inter-server realm transfers, I can see such a feature creating more problems than it will solve.

I spent a lot of time getting my character to level 50. In this time I had plenty of opportunity to change realm if I was not enjoying myself at Syrtis, but I did, and I chose to stay.

So, I really don't see how it will be beneficial to the game, and I can see such feature getting abused and I agree with Altara, in that it will create a lot of drama and tension and as a result just make the game less fun.

I thought your first nick was something like Kino...

Name change (mount name change) is a very useful thing for players like me:
1. I used that scroll to change name of my main char from Truewar Kinght to Truewar, T-R-U-V-O-R to Truvor etc. Name change gave me opportunity to correct some mistakes.
2. I`d like to change name of my PJ if I will give out or sell my account one day.

Regarding realm change...
IMAO it is not good idea. If you want to support some realm or increase balance or simply try something new, don`t be so lazy and grind out new char. Try to put yourself on NGD`s position and you`ll understand why they don`t want to make such option.

I would like the possibility for realm changes. I made a post about it sometime ago:

http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum...99#post1053199

Some things need to be ironed out for realm transfers to be viable, but I think it would be a potential solution to realm imbalance.
