From the changelog:
-New: Improved system for armors. Special socketed armors can now be obtained from looting killed creatures and/or by existent premium items (Lucky boxes). Premium: -New: Item "Improve Armor" in minor and major versions. It allows different improvement types for armors. To me that reads you can drop armour with sockets in but you can only buy enhancements

Yes it seems that everyone thought you can drop the enhancements but you can only drop the armour....FOR FREE!!!....NGD is so kind

But I assume you can trade them, or at least the enhanced parts?

warmaster armour has a total of 15 sockets for those armour enhancements, buying 15 majors would take 70 euros if u use a credit card,
