I think doppel did a pretty good job explaining the pics.

Yes, knight/warrior/conju buffs can severely reduce hunter damage output, often into double digits. Protective auras tend to do that. On the ambush, all we can do is make guesses and speculations. The one picture doesn't tell us anything useful. Skills aren't time stamped, so we can't see the flow of events too well, only a snapshot of whatever current moment. Can't see if they were under DI or not, can't see if there was some other buff or resistance active. And as was said, CC skills are sent through 2 stages, whether or not the skill is landed, and whether or not the CC itself is able to be applied.

I think someone mentioned that on a skill, (namely CC skills) the effect is applied, THEN the cast timer is started, and then the CC effect is removed based on checks against resistances. So it could have been a log-based bug, could be a glitch, could be a problem with the positional delay compensation, it could be anything really. It could be they got their buff up the moment your CC was applied, and the server applied both conditions at the same time not knowing what else to do.

Barbs have unstoppable madness. Knights have steadiness. Warriors have defensive support. All of these skills help resist the cc's effect. What it means to resist the cc effect is that the spell does land(meaning your log shows it as a successful hit), but the actual effect: knock, dizzy, etc is ignored. That's what you're seeing in that screenshot.

As for what happened with the caltrops, it's simple. Roxy and I both carry onslaught. And I carry Protect Ally. You caltrops, I simply dispelled it and onslaughted her :P
