Even if this game knew some good and bad moments, there's still a lot of things in Regnum that makes it unique compared to the bazillion of other asian-ish and WoWish MMO clones:
- Non utterly complicated/bloated gameplay/UI - "non-korean" looking graphics/animations. - A relatively small community (on Horus at least), which is good because everyone knows eachother, there's more friendliness, cooperation and you can easily be well known, - Full native Linux (32/64bit) support (very important for all Linux players) - Relatively friendly and close developers (see developers answering in other games or having a test server?) - Premium not giving an unfairly advantage over non-Premium And even if some updates did scratch some of the above points, I think most of the reasons I have chosen to play RO are still here, hence why I have been unable to properly quit it. So I might stay for some time, especially if this update is good (it sounds like so).

I really don't wait for anything. Position bug and barb's overpoweredness are annoying but I still can have fun. I never tried to have god mode in ro and always bet on teamplay which still works fine.
I really don't care about horus anymore. There were a lot of players who cared, but all left or stopped. The bigest trouble of horus is trolls. I've returned to nemon. It has nice community, own uniqe gameplay and much things to do. NGD's designers team did a great job. Now turn for programmers. GoGoGo!

I am staying, I can just take a break if I am not satisfied with the update and wait for a fix.
Linux client, simple system in game, nice community, clan friends, friendly and visible devs, free for all war zone and a non Korean style, are just a few reasons why I ll hardly leave this game soon. No matter in how wrong state the game is, it is still somehow addictive.

Don't think other servers like "full", Horus is still cool just if u think about the possibility of kill bosses. On Nemon They kill bosses like 1 time each month (if they are lucky), Raven is just a new server that splitted up some Horus' players (ofc frustrated ones) cause they didn't want to be overfarmed again. Talking about piranha, well i still don't see the point to open that server... What about to Fuse Horus-Raven-Piranha and make a "full" server ?
About the realm chat, well limiting it inside the realm wall has been the greatest fail for NGD, Sorry guys but that step makes look RO like an empty game. A day i went to rae to buy some stuff and a newbie Said in Syrtis chat : Oh well another shitty empty game... while i had 45 ppl on my list warring at forts... The most part of newbies leave because they can talk with nobody else beside other noobies inside wall... Maybe extending back the Realm Chat to the whole map and stop to pursue the possibility of oblige players to spend 80 ximerins on War banner could bring u much more cash from new "satisfied" players. I wish u wouldn't ignore my last words, because at first i noticed it like others did, i mean about newbies' istant quitting or Quarrels for "Disorganization" in game... you should understand that players waste money in game if they like it; if u keep smashing it with new pro-ximerins updates, u will have a reversed-effect. Nobody spends money anymore-> Nobody Buys war banners-> ppl cries for disorganization->ppl leave the game-> nomore money for You , Newbies quit even before join = The game Dies. |

This statement above is not true.
If you are in a "bad relationship" with an abusive person, then leaving them does not make you a quitter. You are doing what's best for you. If you see a company that you have heavily invested stock into starting to fail would you sit back and let your money/investment/earnings become worhtless and vanish? Yes, changing our skills over and over and complicating our game lives is a form of abuse/trauma. Here in regnum I paid for a bowl of strawberry icecream and I obtained bowl of chopped strawberries in battery acid. Sure there are straberries in the bowl, but there is no icecream. Also the acid makes my half completed order of only straberries unedible. I'm playing flight simulator war games now having the time of my life, but I still love the memory of regnum and have hopes that one day we will obtain and keep what was offered to us in the beginning. This drastic change is also why so many marriages don't last. Everything was beautiful and perfect at the start, and now its a fat ugly cracked out mess. |

So let me understand this. You are relating a game which is optional, has no consequence to your life (or should not), and is purely for entertainment to things like abusive relationships, poisoned desserts or people losing in stocks?
How ridiculous is that!? Have you ever seen the deep end of such things? Seriously, somebody needs a reality check if they can somehow relate relationship abuse or financial failure to some inconsequential change in a game as abuse. I suppose a week without Mountain Dew or Coca Cola is a form of abuse too. I simply take the statement made by isaacrulzrs2 in a very tight context as regards this thread. While I might not agree with it totally, using dramatic, extreme and totally out of context statements as a rebuttal is not in good taste. |
