its the same game though..and with NGD's backing and vice versa.

Just think it seems a bit rude is all to act as if someone is stealing NGD's work and jumping on someone over it..

I don't agree with NGD's long term outlook from it, as even if Realms/Regnum Online does get more advertising and support etc, we still will not see those players due to the routing of USA player etc etc etc.

Still, I don't know every detail, only NGD and GameSamba do I spose, just hope it does work out in favor for both equally in that partnership, so I'd feel easier at least too..I am all for the game to reach a bigger audience and gain momentum, support..monetary wise but I admit I am not exactly sure how it all works yet

As for dicussing Regnum on GS' forums, I have and do and never had any issues, as well as talked with the GM's in game about Regnum Its not some Nazi Regime over there..

I would be over there now if some things were handled differently to be honest, if I didn't invest so much in Horus to make another leap as I did from RA to Horus after what 2 years of playing on RA.. Not this time, though its got nothing to do with Raven.

Do you see any reference to Regnum Online when you type Realms Online on Google? On the official Realms Online website? On most of Realms Online reviews?

Just an opinion like mine though,

back it up with facts possibly. Nothing 100% false or true will be stated by either you or me on this, since neither of us work for NGD or GameSamba and know every detail of this partnership and what NGD gains from it, you COULD be right, but then again so could I. Or hell we are both wrong.

Lets leave it at that.

Act like a newbie player discovering "Realms Online" via the MMO rankings site.
You'll most likely search for it on google and end up on the official website (realmsonline.com).
Now go there and try to find a single mention or hint about Regnum Online (excluding the forum)...

Besides the tiny unclickeable NGD logo on the bottom, there's really nothing. If I didn't know about Regnum I'd just conclude that this is a game from Gamesamba, I would not know neither that there's many more servers.

I don't deny it's good that NGD makes partnerships with publishers, but what for if NGD and Regnum Online don't get the deserved advertisement and credit?
Also, Chilko already said that most of the Xim revenues go to the publishers and not to NGD, so Horus and Ra are way more profitable for them.

To finish, Horus is the International server, so IMO it should be the most advertised one since it's not limited to a region or language like all the other servers.

all the others are/were (tyr RIP) were all maintained by gamigo or unitedsomething whatever, as i dont remember so i may be wrong.

Piranha is being handled by some other name but hell if i remember.

Honestly, it is hard to miss the fact that its common to many players that realms online is regnum online. They don't hide it..hell they even link TO the regnum wiki on their site =/
Disregarding the forum is a pretty weak argument, We use this forum far more than I ever used NGD's home site (I downloaded the client and registered, I really haven't visited it since, The forum is far more informative than a static and annually..if that..updated website. Just browsing their forums makes it pretty obvious Realms' roots are NGD's Regnum Online, also its common for players to actually link TO the forums here on occasion to forward news and info that isn't available there or not provided etc. to date these are still scattered all over their forum..sans any bans or removal of them if they truly prohibit talk about Regnum there? weird..)

Its good business..to promote their server as much as possible..it wouldnt exactly be a great idea to serve up coke ads at a pepsi plant..Understandably it was critical to do so, to build a player base without everyone saying "well hey lets just go to Horus instead" as much as I idealize that notion, that really would be a bad mistake if I were in their shoes.

Raven also is an international server albeit not "officially" while looking at Horus/RA..Horus is not even listed if you live in 'certain' places and not even officially accessible without a proxy.

i'm unfamiliar with the exact process for GS listing Horus but, ..oh you can create a character and play there. Granted xim payments are going to Gamesamba and not NGD as well as support tickets etc..Why it is this way I can't say, surely NGD is far more involved and knows every why and what for giving the go ahead to function in this way instead of directing Xim bought on Horus to be managed by Paypal to NGD, instead of Gamesamba.

Can't give a reason there since hell if i Know, I could be wrong since this whole conversion xim/sambas is not exactly clear about the process. (does anything happen with Sambas converted to Xim and vice versa? probably not..but again IDK is a great answer.)


The bottom line given to the player base as to why they partnered that deal was because they could not promote the game to the US abroad efficiently, or very limited (like very outdated reviews submitted to mmo sites and such)
GS could apparently, exactly HOW this benefits both is not known fully, I could label my statements as facts but, I'd be lying I will just say if you say he said it, I will consider it as being truthful, though you didn't exactly provide proof or link to any post where he said this himself. That is what I meant by backing up fact and what may be hearsay or unfounded/incorrect. I dont have a problem with taking it as factual until then.
(on the basis why would you lie or make up something that erodes credibility to their argument if it was not true.)

Still, the partnership was not under any threat that I know of, it was a mutual partnership (I thought I remember something about NGD struggling financially and that this provided a means to put more into their projects , but that I cant verify since I am not positive that that was the reason behind it at all.)
Seems a bit odd for NGD to blow a hole right in their side for no reason and allow another partner to leech even more possible revenue from them if it served zero purpose to NGD in any way. You all make it sound like they had to sell their souls to GS.

I would be happy if it stayed strictly NGD, but I can't just blindly think that they just woke up one day and said "hey lets sink Regnum Online..and here's how we're gonna start" I would love to know what, if any, beneficial results were because of this deal? crazy how I seem like the devils advocate when I just want to hear a few more answers before i lambaste any company that is doing business with NGD as far as it seems, at least outwardly..dull and without much to report or announce of this stranglehold GS has on NGD's intellectual property of regnums codebase and artwork..and whatever else can be thrown in there.

I would be enthusiastic if you were 100% right. though i get the impression that aint the case.


concerning veterKH I don't know..Hopefully they are somewhat preoccupied working on the updated GUI? Or maybe buffing the Hunter class from pansy to predator once more..I can dream
