what is the point of the darkness at night in the game ?

Seems i am not the only one that prefers to see by whom i am killed .

RO is a just a game to play for fun for me. Hope they fix it soon. Untill then i simply stop playing when it is night in the game because then it is no fun for me.
Already noticed on RA that the amount of players online is much much less at the game 'night time' so guess more players think the same about it.

You should try what i said. It is just a simple change in the game.cfg. Solving all your problems! :P

Thanks for the tip Hayir.
I just got another tip too, under option, video if you push up 'gamma' then it also gets much better.
Although it still is a pitty that the game is so empty with players compared to normal.

Hmm, if the nights are that much of a problem, why not just add a torch item as either an offhand and maybe a 15m radius, or do like daoc and add it as a radial glow around the character.

However the downside, is that turning on the light also lights up your character at night, so you stand out like a beacon. :P So using the torch would be a double-edged sword. (and I always liked that about DAoC which had pretty dark nights as well) Of course back then I'd just let myself get used to the dark, and stealth-kill torch users when I found them out and alone.

Also, since it's a double-edged sword, and can be potentially as much a disadvantage as an advantage (being able to see around you better vs. being seen better) that might make it a good candidate as a permanent-use premium item like horses. You don't -have- to use it, and sometimes it's better -not- to use it, but it's a nice thing to have. I think the horses/mounts also follow this concept in a way.

Why not just move the bar for the Gamma setting in the options menu? thats all i had to do, when dark, i see everything just fine.
