Snakes have high damage (Many Hunters use with Bestial wrath), Trolls have high HP and good damage, cats have low damage but attack very fast and seem to evade alot. Orcs are average but are a good selection if you want a specific damage type. Wolves are the most balanced of all pets.
Level 59/60/61 pets include orcs, trolls, tigers wolves (golden wolf), and snakes. Rest are untameable, I think. Beware of big pets. Trolltards are a bit of a fashion, but a large pet can not only get in the way of your allies, it can get in your own way too, especially when fighting at melee range (e.g w/ dirty fighting). Though I've also seen Hunters win by hiding inside them to avoid being clicked as well. (Not everyone knows about Shift+Click, and it doesn't always work.) |

Playing without a pet is more fun anyway, or you can make some more interesting setups if you only skill pet tree to 15, and tame a lower level pet.

Id do that but at the risk of skilling training and protection passives to offset its lower level.

You guys keep coming up great advice and a few tactics, as well. My hunter is small so maybe I can hide inside a wolf...I know I can inside a bear. It is good to know the Wolf is the most balanced as i am unbalanced enough in real life.
