About the old arena's. Why not just convert those practice area's found in the initiation zone adjacent to the first village you visit into a practice area using the same code as the old arenas. In that way you could the option of both.

NGD would probably need to increase the size of those practice areas to make it fair on ranged classes.

Old arenas were more fun because they were multifunctional and allowed spectators. This probably was a problem on RA - I imagine arenas could get really crowded.

The solution could be a mix of the old and new arena:

Arena would stay instanced, but people could allow spectators or fighters joining their instanced fight (or eventually disable spectators and more fighters) - a list of ongoing fights could be viewed when entering arena.

Bring back the old arenas. Gone are the days of testing armour, testing setups, training newbies, and god forbid, having fun in the arena.

If they put it back I would be rather surprised.

I am sure their thinking is that they want to drive those "for fun " PvP and training sessions to premium duel banners.

By the way, don't they have a PvP island? maybe they should make it like Carnival island and offer a lifetime pass (one time Xim payment) so players can go do their thing there.
I said premium because if I said free they would probably just throw the idea out the door.

New arenas are still buggy- not loading at the load screen, spells are cast and shown as effective on the HUD but have no effect, lag spikes (might just be normal gameplay), random crashes (also may be normal gameplay?)...
I ought to make it a point to find these bugs and compile them, if I can find a partner to help, but people mostly don't use the arena.

I'll agree with everyone here, the new arenas just aren't any fun. The level restriction makes it difficult to find someone to pvp, it can't be used for training anymore, no one can watch unless someone posts a brag video after the fight.
I'd like to see a new arena option that could be used to help new players, and the level restriction changed. I'd also like to be able to spectate fights, and have more than a 1v1 fight. It would also be interesting to be able to fight people in other realms. Maybe this could be tied in to team deathmatch and capture the flag, since they've been unavailable?
^^^ pretty much everything here has been repeated, but if you want to move people to duel banners, then there needs to be a change in the banners, namely an increased area. As they are, ranged players cannot fight warriors. Archers cant use any of their range, and one simple to land MS kills all of their defense.

Ignis Arena got 2 Rounds to fight & you dont get DC after the both round r over. IDK about alsius arena but the way you r managing arena's its quite of a discrimination with Syrtis whereas Ignis arena is all fine
