pentium 4 1.3 256mb ram geforce fx 5700 kernel: 2.6.22-kamikaze9 When i startx with openbox, only 32mb ram is in use And that actually runs the game a lot smoother than a amd x2 6400 wuth 2gb ram, running ms vista |

I've been running linux distros for probably over 5 years now. I still run linux on my 'main' system but that system has gotten old now and I don't play games on it anymore. I play Regnum in Windows on my laptop.
Distro: Gentoo CPU: Duron 1.2GHz @ 1.5GHz w/ 400MHz FSB Mem: 512MB DDR GFX: GeForce 5700 LE The nice thing about linux is that I won't have to upgrade this box for a long time =) |

Debian user
I'm using XFCE on Debian Etch. The game runs great at 1440x900 in a window.
running with a p4 2.8 with a 7600GT BFG overclock edition For those Ubuntu users, I used it for a year to step into Linux...I wiped out and started again with debian and built from the ground up...aptitude is awesome...system is very stable...things are much faster (even with KDE and Gnome)...things that were not working, now work with some effort...take the plung and learn more about linux! I suggest using stable kernel rather than the crazyness of Ubuntu bloat :P Just my experience tho...haha, rant |
