They said before RO does not handle unicode good, so i suppose if you have letters in your nick that are not ansi they can be screwed.

Come on guys, we all knew this. There are few people actually working on RO, so don't tell me you expected them to have everything done by the time they said. Don't get me wrong, I wish they could, but they just don't: bugs, glitches, delays, etc... Totally comprehensible.
Since they told us about this happening early 2019, I was thinking in March-April. Way better if they finish before, but don't be in a hurry...

Second quarter(April) isn't early. It was promised poll is happening before Christmas and transfers immediately after successful poll.
Of course there is no discussion of the fact that health of Adrian or whoever involved has way different level of priority, and also that if there is bug that is important and quick to fix, things may be delayed.

But to think of whole server should wait 3 months just for some annoying bug in clan transfer, that's not really fine. Rather forget the clans, if it's so big. We'll recreate them on Ra sooner or later anyway, if needed at all. My opinion.

Looking forward to the transfer option.

No need to rush it now, better find the bugs now then days after the transfer option is live. Imagine the work to sort that out on a live db. Or worst case a full rollback + rollback on spent ximerin in that time.
When you think its ready, take another week to check all corner cases. This transfer on a live system sounds really scary. Like how to recover when Haven DB is fine while RA DB crashed and rolled back itself and other way around. And write extensive logs on everything involved in the transfer.

Id personally consider to have a fixed merge window on planned server maintenance downtime. Like you queue up your transfer chars and the transfer happens in the merge window. Full world stop on affected servers while the copy and validation completes, combined with a consistent backup..

Don't blame feeling impatience - i do so myself. Its about attitude.

Its quite a big technical challenge to get this right, any bug fixed now will save days or weeks of cleanup. I find this whine on the last inch quite inappropriate, not helpful to speed things up. If anything, it just gives a bitter feeling to the devs and shows off immature egocentrism.

@Enio is right - making such conversions is not an easy task and bugs can mess up the database in such extent, so it can take hours/days/weeks to fix afterwards. And this can mess up not only your user/clan, but data of other users. Making rollback if fixing is impossible will enrage alot players, because of lost progress.

We all do not want this to happen, so please be patient.

Where's the attitude in my post? All I said whats the update on the situation and that Carnival event is soon. Most the posts have been deleted with attitude already.

Anyway I'll always keep asking for updates when we go 4 or more days with no update on the situation.
