2012 is a symbolic date, nothing more. The problem with the definition of "world" is that it's not the Earth, it's the society and culture.

@Hell_bound: The LHC and all its risks are worth taking, though I don't think we're going to have dangerous black holes. There is not enough mass to make the black hole stable and powerful enough to reach the event horizon.

There's something more astounding: The Grid. It's a set of computers connected through a hyper-fast net so they can share their processing power. It was built so the scientists could analyze the huge amount of data the sensors in the LHC generate... And even with this system, it will take them years. about that whole 2012 I didn't take a voice in the discussion cause you guys basically said enough. 2012 is the beginning of cosmological Aquarius Era and end of Pisces Era. That's why a fish sign was a christian sign and that's why Jesus in the bible says that we should open the doors for a man who brings water. No kidding, but theres people in the world just like H_B, who constantly think like some philosophers on crack, they look for old clues, and they love to roleplay like little emo's saying the world will end.
