But it would render so much work on NGD's side useless and create loads of other problems, so I doubt it would ever get implemented.

What about removing the warzone walls and put the gems inside the cities?

Organized raid groups could take the city, make up plans how to best enter the city, etc.
And it would be funny to defend.

As I said, just a crazy idea.
Interesting. But the forts would be totally useless, everyone would defend/attack the cities. Or do you have any ideas to make forts attractive?

But it would improve the low-level gameplay. Guards patrolling from city to city, etc. I'd love it

This would totally make me addicted I think XD I love it.

Edge, in some topic Kailer(?) stated that the lag in the cities was somehow related to the textures and that this will be fixed together with a graphical overhaul(Kailer please don't ban me this was accidentally from the testing team forum XD)

The primary issue I take with no realm walls is that it opens up a can of worms for newer players. Sure it might make the game fun again for a little while with the players that are running around with +40lvl characters. But what about grinding? What about the large expanses of land that are not defended within zones where the noobs need to grind? Think about time zone differences now where there isn't many on to defend like on Horus (affects all realms). It would cause further realm imbalance due to players not being able to grind because a realm with a higher player base can run through most the realm just killing all the noobs.

I'm probably just contrarian, but I never liked the ping-pong between Samal and Stone. After defending Stone, it was so frigging predictable..."Samal Samal" I knew people who were over lvl 40 that never even saw Shanaa, effe, or Imperia and attacking them was not ever considered...except for Effe which you used to be able to take solo. We do have bridge fights on Horus.

I am not in favor of nerfing areas. If they are nerfed then Ignis will invade Syrtis on Horus every night. Areas are the only thing that saves us at this point and even then.

Guard captains might be overkill at the walls. A number of guards might be enough there.

Ahm .. imo, castle wars the most boring. The door goes down slower, which makes your enemy to have time to cast 2\3 area charges before the door comes down. At forts, it's destroyed much quicker, which leads to an infernal battle inside the fort and an ultimate show of survival skills up the tower, vs hordes of enemies

Ping-pong is kinda fun actually, because you're always moving, and it gives you no chance to idle at CS\Herb. You have to keep people active, since it's the only way to keep the WZ active aswell.

But with later experience of open wars at Horus, I'm prefering these to fort wars. You have nowhere to escape, and you're obligated to work in team, protecting your allies and making up your own "aura fort" in the middle of the battlefield.

I aggree with Matt, Zunnur etc... Whenever a fort is taken some Idiot is panicing everyone be spammin that we will get invaded and out gems will be stolen etc...

Everytime more than 20 of us are in one place someone trys to start an invasion, normaly a lvl 20 something who has never experianced the stress of one, I must say the first invasion attempt I was part of was a very shit day.

We sat in Shana for over half an hour, it took 45 MINS for everyone to acctualy get to Samal for a re-group, we then spent 20 MINS arguing on the best way to attack the gate, ofc once 80% aggreed and we went, once we got to the gate the plan totaly fell appart in the fps lag (for me it was little more than a slide show) and ofc we got owned in one area rush, over an hours work undone in the time it takes to cast an area, And after than 40% of people gave up.

Samal fights and Pinos fights are fealing samey... We take the fort... 70% of ther force goes save camping... Die... those left at the fort get zerged by angry save camp victims.

Im thinking of starting to level Umaril on the side, because a whole day in wz with a mix of idiots spouting their ill informed opinions, campers, and people who would likely forget how to move if not for the big arrows on the key board... Its just to much... Oh and another fave people who go afk when they die, great way to waste a Rez.

I see that alot in horus/syrtis and it seems to slow peoples grinding tremendously. A small group of level 30-45's go EEK, 5 iggies took two of our forts and are camping in herb, they must be invading, so we HAVE to go and stop them.

I always tell em that it's only 5 people and theres no point going there to try and take back the fort when they have double the amount of people... Doesn't work, they still go.

Of course to be fair, ignis could have sent 6 or 7 people to take the two lesser forts, while the rest took efe and met back at herb, but I'm sure SOMEONE would notice a group of 20-30 iggies grouping at pb ready to invade.

i honestly think the whole idea goes over peoples heads sometimes.

like today we took trell (RA) and i spent 300k to upgrade it, i then wanted people to stay and defend it..but half ran to save, eventually everyone scatters, dies..lack of co ordination, but we still have fort..so attempt 2,

everyone gets greedy, screams IMPE!!

leaves fort undefended..except for a few who guard it carefully.

impe is captured, and the countdown starts, however syrtis in typical bonehead fashion, leaves impe, captures agg, als gets back impe..syrtis goes to trell..gets bored..screams impe once again..much to our sadness at explaining WHAT GOOD IS IMPERIA WITHOUT A FORT...cant invade..we must hold the fort till we have enough to keep trell, and take imperia.

at this time agg has been captured...they leave anyways..

we get slaughtered at trell..we had like 3 people while idiots went to imperia, and im assuming we got hit by the huge group that took agg back.
alsius captures trell, and we lose. we never did get imperia again and most people got tired or ragequit i guess..me i just got tired of syrtis being stupid and logged out to watch some tv.

i hate fort wars sometimes..especially when people dont understand the basic mechanics of defending and anticipating where the enemy will go, and not spreading out too thin or being too greedy.

i so wish to invade you had to garrison at least a percentage of units at a fort, instead of this huge army ping ponging all over the map taking forts, while the other side follows behind them taking back empty upgraded forts..they hardly ever meet till the castle.
