Good for you. Don't let a person who has 3 lvl 50 chars in his forum signature tell you that you shouldn't lvl your char to 50

Obviously i never said dont grind, and if you would have taken the time to read my posts Lumi, you would have found that is exactly my point; people just dont stop grinding when forts, castles, or the realm gate are in danger. You tend to show up for those things, so i dont see why you felt the need to post what you did, as you as much as provided an example of the right way to do things, thanks. Although both here and in the game, you have a pretty lousy attitude, the same attitude that is bringing alsius further down than it already is; and you wonder why you get ressed/healed after the rest of the army
As for having three level 50s, ive been playing for almost two years, and the time on horus when i play the most is almost always dead, so sadly there is not a lot of war for me to be in, but i never once war stop me from defending my forts, which is the ultimate point of my post. War is more important than grind; when people see that they have 20 people at a fort and have been killing the same 6 for 3 hours, while people grind away, they get bold and get visions of invasion.

People play games for different reasons.
Just because you enjoy playing a game one way it doesn't follow that everyone who plays the game enjoys playing it for the same reasons as you. Richard Bartle Ph.D., researched personality types in massively-multiplayer online games and a test was developed from his research. Here's a link to Bartle's original paper (PDF): http://www.mud.co.uk/richard/VWWPP.pdf Take the test here: http://www.gamerdna.com/quizzes/bart...mer-psychology Berating people for how they play the game achieves absolutely nothing as it will not make people play the game how you want them to play. Unfortunately unconstructive criticism of how other people play does add to the already discordant atmosphere that exists in Alsius Horus. |

The problem is that it sux being in the wz pre-lvl45 because lvl 50's with uber epic items squash u like a bug. It's no fun being killed so quickly so often.
So i can see the attraction of lvling to 45+ in order to fight back more effectively. |

I always repeat, what makes grinders angry:
This is a war game not grinding game, if you want to bake cookies, play Runescape! Regards.

Killer The Killer motto: "No enemy left standing!" Description: It's the thrill of the kill. Trophies are okay, but that momentary rush attained from besting an opponent is what it's all about. People with high Killer scores prefer the player-versus-player aspect of any game more than anything offered by the environment. They relish the adrenaline and challenge of pitting themselves against real people. Not all Killers are gankers as some critics claim. While getting the jump on the unprepared for a quick kill is important fun for some Killers, many prefer group PvP and revel in a well executed team maneuver that blows away the opposing side.

I can understand your frustration, as I have always wanted to use some awesome plans since 2006. However, something always happens that I cannot find enough people to help me carry out my goals. Yes true this is a war game, but people must get to level 50 to be 100% complete. Some just feel that since the enemy will return in 15 mins to take the castle again, that there is no reason to stop earning level points just to waste repairs on a never ending war. We had this problem on Ra years ago when it was a young server, and to this day we have it at times. <shrugs> We cannot control how others play, only offer advice. I find that a smile will get you more followers than a frown. True again, many people have limited time, thus they spend it doing something that will help them in their future. (xp grinding for power) In 2007 some people said they refuse to fight one war until they are level 50. People said this back in the day because fort wars consisted of people waiting 20 mins at a fort for the enemy to come, just to have a stand off of who can terror first. The people who needed xp saw it and still see it as a waste of valuable time. The problem is not such that people do not help with fort wars, but that there are very few people working in groups to get xp. If more people worked in groups to level up, then more people would come in troves to assist in the fort war. Again though, I feel you bro.... I was pissed off with all the people who just gave up and sat afk at the save alters. Things get alot tougher when realm chat vanishes (wait and see). My suggestion to you is this... 1) add the people who feel as you do about wars to friends list 2) form a party before you run off to fight in the war.. 3) Maybe start or join a clan that is dedicated to war? 4) Just wait until your server is populated..... things will change |
