Her hair was that of red threads of silk, her body glistened in the moon light as she poured water over her head. The pond shone and teemed with life. I carefully moved closer, careful she didn’t see me. Closer and closer I crept, moving the branches of a bush to get a better view of the beauty bathing in the water. Leaning forward I fell into the blue liquid, the woman covered herself with her hands at the loud splash. She eyed me then smiled, holding a hand out to me, beckoning me. I stood, walking to her slowly; I wrung out my robe and put on my hat. She giggled cutely and began to walk towards me, her breasts looked soft. Our bodies met, I held her around her waist, her naked body pressed against me. She began to-
Dimera nudged Sand with his bow. Sand sat up slowly grumbling. He glared at the bowman. “You woke me because?” Dimera put a finger to his lips and spoke in a low raspy voice “Alsians. Close to us.” I was busy putting out our fire, laying a cloak over the remains to try and stifle the smoke as much as I could. “Neith stay here with Vythica.” Smurv whispered. Vythica let out a low hiss. “I am coming” she said trying to stand, but Neith held her in place. “You will just burden us with your injuries.” He said inspecting his shield. “Stay here, tend to your wounds and keep Neith safe.” He walked into the shadows, I tried to catch up with him. “You can’t be serious about going to them.” I asked fiddling with the cord around my neck. His eyes were distracted, head tilted to the sky; it seemed as if he did not hear me. I nudged him a bit with my elbow and he rested his arm on my head as usual. “You know I am” He sighed frowning. “I don’t want to fight either, but we do as we must to protect this realm.” Dimera and Sand came to us, the mage gloating about his dream. Red and black robe swirled around as he danced the way the woman had. The other man just nodded and looked to the sky just like the knight. Sand quieted himself and gripped onto his staff. This was something I had never felt before, this calmness before war. I looked to the ground, knots tangled my stomach. They followed me through the forest, relying on my skills in tracking. I tried to drag it out as long as I could, circling the same grounds. There weren’t as many as we thought, but still enough to overtake us. We watched for awhile. A woman’s hand grabbed my shoulder, and pulled me back. Vythica’s fierce eyes shone in the darkness. “You sure did take them the long way here didn’t you?” She said smiling “I’ve been here for awhile already.” Smurv glared at her “Where is Neith?” “I took her to Menirah, I couldn’t miss the action.” Smurv only shrugged. They discussed how to go about taking the Alsians out. Images ran through my mind, which friends I would have to see massacred. My eyes teared up, thinking of all the possible outcomes. Dimera and Vythica left us, the plan was to sink as many arrows into the healer as they could before the others noticed, and by that time it would be too late... My heart sunk. We waited in the shade for Dimera’s signal. Smurv ruffled my hair and wished me luck. Arrows whistled through the air, a scream was muffled quickly with a couple arrows to the throat, the healer collapsed to the ground. The Alsians prepared for battle, but...by then... Many of them fell to the ground. One, a dwarf, stood in front of me, his face, was so familiar. His face, was the one I loved, his face, was my husbands. I forgot who I was, where I was. The only thing that mattered was him. I ran in front of him. The small man stared at me in confusion. “Torin. Its-“A sharp pain pierced my heart my chest started to feel warm and numb. I looked down to see the fletching of an arrow sticking out of my body. I sank to my knees, unable to breathe. The world grew dim around me. My husband stood above me his blade on my shoulder. I dug my nails into the ground. “Shalis!” Shalis? What an odd name... a name that was mine...? I reached out for Torin. His blade left a nick in my skin as he was pulled away from me. The pain in my body didn’t compare to what I felt in my heart. I grasped onto my life fighting to keep it. Arms wrapped around me and turned me on my back “The scum ran off.” A woman said. The days I spent here, with these people, blurred together. The time went by fast- “The wound is deep; she’s losing too much blood!” This bleak place, this, this desert, this heat, this air, was unfamiliar to me. But over the past months they became comfor- “We need to get her to Neith.” “That is too far! She will die before we make it there.” “Then I guess she dies here.” “No-“ My mind was swamped; I rolled my head so I could look up. My limp body was being held by someone. My eyes, filled with tears made it nearly impossible to see, but, I knew him by voice. Smurv, the one who let me in with open arms, the one who let me get close enough to- “Vythica, scout the area and bring back anyone with any kind of knowledge in healing.” Fleeting footsteps echoed in my head. The pain, I wanted it to stop. I looked back up at Smurv, only seeing a dim outline of his face. Footsteps, again, there was another with us now. Cold hands touched my chest. “You were right not to remove the arrow, she would have died instantly” “Do not tell me what I already know mage, just fix it.” “I do not know much, but I can save her, though it will leave a nasty scar” “As long as she lives.” “Smurv, you are spending too much time over this girl, hasn’t she suffered enough?” “Sand, I never asked your opinion.” His arms tensed beneath me. A cold cloth wiped around my wound. I wanted to move away from it, I needed to- “What?” the new comers voice was surprised. “This- There’s blue on the cloth, her skin is dyed.” Smurv’s grip on me loosened. “Y-you’re sure?” there was silence. I was in panic. I closed my eyes, I wanted to escape. The voices became muffled, my body, more numb then before. Things in mind started to slow, started to make sense. The images I saw, were like a lullaby, I saw my life and how it was before. The memories made me feel warm as I slowly slipped into the darkness. “Betrayal...” The stars went by slowly over head. I felt a gaze on me; I moved slowly to see Vythica staring at me. She didn’t say anything, just stared. I was covered by a rough woollen blanket, trees passed us rapidly. We sat on the back of a litter being pulled by horses. Neith grabbed my hand. “We can only take you as far as Aggersborg.” She said and squeezed my hand. Confusion warped my mind. I looked into her auburn eyes, then, at once, everything clicked. They were helping me escape. I hugged her and held her, tears streamed down my face. I couldn’t think of the right words to use to thank her. We slowly came to a halt, Smurv and Dimera dismounted and stretched. I got off the litter carefully eyeing them. “Are you sure about this Smurv?” Vythica asked not moving from her spot. “Efrendi will have your head when he finds out” The large knight grumbled, his gaze was cold. I went to him and took his hand. “I will never forget this.” He didn’t even look at me. A hate seeded itself inside me, a hate for what I did to these people, a hate for myself. “I would rather you did.” He took his hand from my grasp and got back onto the horse. I was in turmoil, I needed to say something, but the words never came to my head, until they were out of sight. Every day I thought of those people, every day, till the day I died. ZE END |

Zomg but what happens to her?! Did she become an alsian? Go back to syrtis? Wander without a realm? What happened to the iggs who helped her escape? And what about the invasion alsius planned on ignis? So many questions left unanswered! Maybe make a part 2 to tell us all of this? Or an epilogue at least?
Besides that... great story, I could always read more of this if you have more material to write about.

They didn't clean the wound properly and she died of gangrene, hence why she thought of those people every day
