It happens to worriors I can asure you
Barbarians may not have much casting time but 1 sec cast along with very slow weapond is equal to 3-4 sec between hits.

It may be bug involved in how spells act when they dont hit because of range or 180 degree which you can hit people in.
But moving to take advantage in battle cant be considered as an exploit.

There are also ways to make it not happen as much
mages can use arcane devotion and warriors can slow down or pin their target.

OMG. It's not a bug, it's a strategy, just like using trees (I'm a Warlock, and that's how I recognize a worthy non-mage opponent..).

What's up with carebears and Regnum? This is a PvP game, or RvR, whatever you call it now. It's not about clicking on buttons ... it's playing with your environment, your enemy weaknesses.. which include making your opponent waste his spells.

A "bug" is when design and implementation differ; when what you actually built is something else than you intended to.

As long as there are no design papers published on the design of the game (the intent), speaking about "exploiting bugs" is nonsense. Regular users can't second guess the intent of the dev team. From the user perspective, the game itself. the code and data, are the rules of the game. It is technically impossible to violate them. Anything goes. Can you kill a dragon by drowning it in the game, why then that's just yet another way to kill a dragon. If you don't want the dragon to drown, don't create a drownable dragon. Et cetera. Don't blame the players for... ...playing the game? If you think it is a "bug" (see above), it's up to you (i.e. the developers) to fix it. We lowly players cannot, by principle, even identify what is a bug and what is an intentional feature.

And regarding "common sense" -- that's a non-trivial and very interesting philosophical little issue which however would be far off topic here. But I'd say common sense tells me that grizzly bears can't teleport themselves, nor can anyone else for that matter. (The mob is cheating, so ban it?) Common sense tells me there is no such thing as magic or werewolves or elves. This game would be utterly boring if it was guided by "common sense".

Rumor has it the guy who started Ultima Online once approach what looked like a newbie, in-game, who was sitting by the water, fishing. He offered him some fancy weapon or other similar combat oriented equipment he was carrying but the player turned down the offer: "You keep it. I don't fight." "What do you do then?" "I sit here and fish, sell it in the market and spend the money on playing backgammon with my friends at the taverna." The player was doing something different in and with the game than the game designer had intended and expected. But that's the beauty of non-linear, free-form games. I applaud anyone who discovers a new "exploit". That's a sign of creativity and intelligence.

I would rather ban the boring conventional law-abiding grinders (kill, rest, kill, rest...) -- they're the ones who are no fun at at all to team up with and if they just want XP from performing tedious mindless tasks they would gain it faster from earning real money from a regular equally mindless IRL job and buy their XP for xims, so the game developers can make a buck too and stay in business.

what a post O_O but I partly agree with it. Don't want to axploit a bug though. Or level rest level rest level rest O_O please don't ban me, I do it anyway for xp . But the fun is only when I talk to the guild ö. I banned the bear already though, FROM LIFE.
Regarding dev papers explaining what bugs there are read a bit back, I've been requesting it and my question probably need a dev to be explained though.
