For many years the honour of being the world’s first electronic computer was given to the American ENIAC. In recent years, however, both the UK and US governments have declassified and released papers giving more information about Colossus. In the light of this historians have been forced to reconsider and most now agree that Colossus was in fact the world’s first electronic computer.
Unlike the Atanasoff–Berry, Colossus was also programmable

A bit programmable and very specific in its tasks. The funny thing is you'll always find some criteria according to which the first xyz was invented in country abc. How many countries claim to have built the first car/computer? How many countries are the beer country?

Sorry DDD we got our own reserves in Trinidad and Tobago. Fuel is cheap too. (60 cents USD per liter).
Trinidad is the home of Calypso and the Steel pan. Yes we invented them. Also we are home to the pitch lake where raw pitch comes to the surface. On a fun note we have 13 public holidays and if one happens to fall on Sunday, we get the Monday off two. If one falls on Sunday and another comes on Monday (it happens), yep we get Tuesday off as well. Added to this we have 2 unofficial holidays (Carnival) when practically nobody works except emergency services. The Wednesday after Carnival is cool down so people hardly work then either. We practically have a fete (party) every day somewhere in the country. Rum , beer yeah we got that. 100% proof ? yeah we got that. Bankrupt? Luckily not. Speaking of Carnival, we have a festival of 2 days with thousands of 3/4 naked women gyrating on the streets of the country. People from your countries come here as tourists to do the same. Other than that we have tropical atmosphere, lots of crystal clear beaches and of course scantily clad women on a lot of them . Men too for those so inclined. |

Hey Art,
Wanna swap countries? It's a good deal I swear! If you like Trinidad you'll love England!
