So basicly you say "You don't suck as much as others"? Wow, that certainly is some positive feedback. |

NGD is really really on the right way, just look at Regnum, this game is unique.
I suggest much more polls and no new updates that include changes that nearly everybody hates... (Bind system)... but besides... Just go on |

Just got surprise. Having trouble dl'ing resources on a friends PC (certain trouble is with his PC), to get around this I have a windows copy of RO on an old P3 laptop with 384MB ram and low spec intel graphics (i810) and copy it over to his PC. It runs on the damn thing. Default settings give 10fps, not great but can grind ok. Last time trying to run RO on this thing I had to drop the graphics right down to stick figure settings (about 6 months ago) just to get chat usable, now its playable. Nice one.

Done. Light horse bug (jumps back to start position). Fixed New towns. Looking back through stuff from this time last year and there are loads more points could add, just putting 1 more though: Mobs in some popular grind spots are more clustered together and of the same type. Now when I'm burning up a scroll with long runs from mob to mob its my fault, it feels like I'm getting value for money when shortening the grind. Doesn't make a whole lot of difference as it saves very little and loses time to go from group to group but it gets more green karma than any of the above from me. |

BTW: We have some brand new mount bugs instead. Mounts that won't cast for no apparent reason. Random falling off the mounts.

*bump*
I haven't played for a very long time (and I don't know if I will start playing again, too little time), but I recently logged in, and the game had really improved tremendously since last I was online! Personally I do not like the new lvl60 cap (too many lvl50 chars to grind), but I see why it made sense for NGD. But many of the other changes really made the game look alot better than 1-2 years ago: Party status, map, new fort/mob designs, etc... The Warmaster teleport spells add more "action" in the WZ, and less waiting & running around. The population balance on Haven also seems quite a bit better than what it used to be on Horus. More people and pretty balanced fights all the time I was at war. I am a software developer and really know how fatiguing a longdrawn project going over multiple years can be, both on individual developers and a team as a whole. It's actually quite astonishing that NGD is still at it adding new features & fixing things after all these years! All us who have enjoyed it should be thankful for the fun we've had. (And if you're mad, go do something else, don't rant on the forums, it is just a game, made to have fun with!) And best of all, it's one of the (if not the) longest running commercially supported games with a native Linux client! Alot of geek-points for that. |

Everything else has been pretty positive though, and realm balance isn't nearly as bad as it was, though it is certainly still problematic in some time zones. I like the new cities, just waiting for the new Ignis and Syrtis ones, because I am curious to see what direction NGD takes their architechture. |

On playing some more recently I can see how they've refined more features. Even the HUD is (for the most part) improved. Segmenting the XP bar is simple but adds a "one more section" quality and makes progress easier to see, rather than the long plain bar we had before. Also the new map, party member display both on the map and the HUD easy selection help greatly.
Sill not a fan of WM powers though, and I still feel a lot of the new forts, while encouraging more interesting interior fights, lose something in making it more difficult to attack from the walls, they just seem much bigger than they need to be, I feel dwarfed within them, let alone castles... their size makes a nice argument for slapping some merchants in them though

You know what? I, like everyone else, has their pet gripes about this game.
And like everyone else i have commented on them. My two biggest gripes: 1. mob evades make an already tedious grind more frustrating. 2. gear imbalance (esp boss gear) = game imbalance (never used to be like this!) Having said this, anyone can still play this game completely for free and can reach max level, gain decent gear with the generosties of friends/clan mates and with luck from drops, and can compete in war (free) better than almost any MMO PVP game out there. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't comment on the game's faults. Indeed, construstive criticism is helpful. But FFS please stop posting on here your gripes about the game in a raging, ungrateful, spoilt-little-brat (I'm throwing my teddy in the corner! Mommy fetch it for me! ) and totally unconstructive way that helps no one and gives off nothing but a bad odour about the game and its community. (Constructive rage over :P) |
