Resources keep downloading - Page 3

Very true, hard to know how many are trying out RO and giving up because of this. Seen a few folks come to the forum to try and sort it out but for every one that does there may be a hundered that just download another f2p game.

As far as I can remember it's only an issue on windows, could get my hands dirty and try and find out whats happening but would like some pointers.

More handy would be if someone on the NGD staff tries to fix this.
I think many people tried to download this game and gone to another one because the download program doesn't function 100%.
They might think...if the download isnt good, i bet the game is functioning properly as well

Last days, some french users was unable to connect to the game. They had essential ressources that kept downloading again and again, making impossible to log onto game.

They finally fixed it today by switching to english language, and untick "Update all ressources at once".

Have a backup of my linux copy, will do a diff after the next update and see how segmented the changes are. Guessing its either antivirus or something wierd in writing binary data existing files. Looks like its different sections for different users which makes no sence, windows does random errors really well though

I am downloading the game now, 1 hour left, and some time for those damn resources...i hope i will be able to play till my pc arrived

BTW: i cancelled the order because i want to change some stuff (different harddisk and adding an screen)

edit: well, he who laughs last, laughs best... and it looks like i didnt laugh last. I DO get further than before, but as soon as Im in the character screen, it tries dling 599 resources, which, after more than an hour of loading, did not decrease by even 1. so, still time out for me...

I have reinstalled, deleted all sdb files and then ticked "load all at once". It takes some time to completely download all the files, but i had problems with just "updating" the sdbs from the installation pack.

all sdb files are like 3 GB of size... it would take like 25hours (!!!) for me to download them. so thats not an option :P

They rush too much to expand the game, without taking time to fix their own errors, balance and bugs.
