Works very very nice!
Some problems: Timer window has title "Ignis". Can you make it so that if I click for timer on Alsius it says alsius, and timer has blue numbers, timer for syrtis is green numbers and says syrtis etc? EDIT: Checking the source code, I see that it's written to work like that, but there is some bug in the code apparently that only shows ignis. Also, can you make it pop notifications when frontier is in danger, and when gem is stolen from someone and make gem blink like forts? Thanks PS: Also can you change "Castle" to the name of each castle? So that it shows Imperia/Shaanarid/Eferias instead of just "castle". I would also like to have a 15min countdown timer if possible, and a timer that goes "up" (starts from 0:0:0 and counts time), to count how much time I play, or maybe just to time enemy buffs etc. Sorry for spamming with requests! PS2: Here is what I did with your application and a little help from devilspie (again). Can you say overloaded? http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3094/overloaded.jpg

I had tried to do that, but java in linux doesn't support translucent :S (in Windows works fine) . Maybe in next jdk/jre update will be fixed, i don't know. PS: The counters title... initially i had the intention that the counters starts automatically when the program detect that an invasion is being, but it's impossible to know it at start of the program. I think it's better to remove the title and just write "counter".

If you read the previous page of this thread, you can see that you can set translucent windows with a small composite window manager, avoiding bloated stuff like compiz. Here's a how-to that I posted in this thread a few posts ago:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=75527 And I added this command to execute on every session startup: xcompmgr -n & killall gnome-panel It's something you do only once and then you can use devilspie to set opacity for different windows! Really easy!

Why the killall gnome-panel though? Quote:
Right click any titlebar Choose "Configure window behaviors" Choose "Window specific settings" Click "New..." Click "Identify window settings" and click on the application you want to set the settings for. Now you have 3 tabs full with options to configure the behavior for this window, including things like window Z value, opacity, to show/not show in taskbar, etc. These settings will be stored and loaded on each KDE startup and applied to the chosen application. PS. This is a translation from the Swedish version of KDE4, the text may differ a bit in the English version. PS2. I just tried to launch "xcompmpgr -n" and it works great with KDE4, gives you transparent panels but with pretty big performance losses: With xcompmgr activated (glxgears): Code:
3642 frames in 5.0 seconds = 728.031 FPS 3637 frames in 5.0 seconds = 727.224 FPS 3697 frames in 5.0 seconds = 739.320 FPS Code:
7466 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1493.088 FPS 9542 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1908.208 FPS Nice tip anyway.

I'm not talking about desktop compositing. Java can make windows translucent by it self. Since jdk6 update 10 it can be done. I'm talking about that, not external tricks.
