Some time ago i had a pvp like situation against Valorius, i didn't use mod for the sake of warlok pvp tradition from the times when they were not as weak as they are now. And even as he has the stronger class at the moment he did use SotW. Just to give you one example of what the game has become. I just miss "The Spirit" that once ruled this game.

I personally echo Eli's thoughts on the game and forum. Also, the warzone is becoming less and less fun for many reasons

Be careful, the first sign of becoming an old fart is to have your own ideals set in stone, made unchanging, and having your failing memory glorifying "The Good Ole' Days", when men were men and women were women, and everything was much better.
There are far more players today, and a larger percentage of the total of these players are simply better players. If you feel that members of your realm might not be playing to his fullest, then consider that it might be your fault for not teaching them; back in beta and before everything was smaller and more tightly knit (and a lot fewer working skills). It's always up to the existing players to teach the new ones, and when you stop teaching the new waves and instead snorting in derision at them, that's when you're an old geezer (:

i know, i know...its off topic, but i just couldn't resist! ontopic: so maybe its not only the skill level of players that has decreased, but the level of overall maturity? that would certainly make sense to me... |

Yeah there seems to be a growning number of copycats. It would be nice if they copied good players but some of them just copy lame tactics. I wouldn't be surprised if builds were copied. If it works for you then chances are it will work for somebody else. Besides, we have a limited number of skills, hence theoretically a limited number of build options. Eventually somebody else will stumble on a build that is the same to another player because it works well.
As for skill, I can't tell for sure if the newer players are less skilled or not. I get to meet some potentially good players all around Syrtis. While individual player skill may be adequate, what is severely lacking is teamplay. Maybe the 10% rule has caused players to level alone more than in the past so they have no clue on good tactics and teamplay. I was once a proponent of the 10% rule (due to the large numbers of extremely low leveled players leeching off high leveled players) but I'm starting to think that it was better (without the 10% rule) since the realm learned how to work together in those huge parties.
