I know about 3 aura limit, but I don't understand why auras suck. As a barb I very much enjoy a knight with HP 5 or SW 5 leading the charge.

Area 6, 130º... that's not too much. That's why they are very hard to use. That's why they suck. If you want to cover your allies, they must be together. And a group of people together is a group of people shouting "CAST TERROR ON US, CAST IT!!". And one Terror makes another lock to cast another Terror, and that makes another lock to cast another Terror, and areas, etc etc etc. So great, your allies are being affected but your areas, but they're eating a bunch of areas. Cool!

With a similar thinking I can say that warlocks should not have any other attack spell except from Sultar or that Hunter should not have a pet since they can use Camo to ambush you with low health. So ok, I am not saying that knights are useless. I am saying auras are not useful for the knight (of course you like it ) because he can not really help without getting in the way of conjurers or giving the enemies a target for Sultar. Because he have to stay in front and his defense is different form the barbarian's just because of Army of one and a little more Health. If the purpose of the knight is needing Army of one to start playing, then is kind of boring to play 50 seconds then wait 2 minutes. PS: Protector... a chance based spell. It could save you from 2/3 of the attacks or none. It makes you feel helpless, deppend so much on luck (I should rather say random server arithmetic).

I agree with Irae and Miriya here. According to some people, you're stupid when clustering together, because that will make you extremely vulnerable to Sultar's Terror. If people can't do this, then the range 6 auras who are only active behind the knight are extremely difficult to use and you'll have 1-2 people in it's effect at most. Heroic Presence still is range 10 all around the knight, which makes this aura a bit more useful, but then you'll get again what Miriya said, you will find yourself dispelling conjurer-auras, which are in general far more useful than some extra armor points.
Of course you shouldn't charge into an army alone, so when we charge, we often go in with multiple warriors, supported by conjurers. Somehow, I find myself killed in 5 seconds very often in such situations(but only when there's no non-knight in attack range), which gives me no chance to cast Army of One and also gives conjurers no time to react.

Just pointing out that you already have a passive defense verse pierce damage in the blunt tree 20% if you can afford level 5 and if you throw deflect proj on top of that you have quite a decent bit of resistance.

Here's a thought.......knights should be able to basically do two things, protect allies, and mess up the enemy ranks enough to be annoying so they get targeted. Right now a knight pretty much can't do the first one because they can't prevent their allies from taking damage......can NGD make player characters solid objects? If you can't run through them, then knights have a whole new use. I for one would love a couple of knights in front of my weak little conjurer so those nasty barbs can't get to me. If they are in front they could make it harder for enemies to reach other people who are knocked down too, like after a Sultar. Of course spells/arrows/etc. would still have to go through them, unlike trees/rocks, etc....
