Being a first time gameplay involved with the devs, I don't understand a few things that happened on Syrtis here..,

1) Some are grinding, some are warring, some are chatting at CS, then suddenly there is a talk about a developer which no new players like me know, then he shows up and all flank at his char as if bees swarm on something sweet.

2) Nobody mentions why is he here, nor does the dev himself.

3) Then he puts some code which gives players some goodies, yeah right, if only fireworks could kill.

4) Then again, as if on impulse or something, he calls all to attack alsius at trelle, and all suddenly ran with this horse, not even thinking of the route he is leading us, not the regular route to trelle which us players take. Note that, many players at this time are on grind setup coz we haven't got a single clue we are going to invade.

5) Then when gotten beaten black and blue at all fronts, getting our boss killed and both our gems taken, all he does is say out one line sentences, aTTACK GATE, ALL to GATE,.... all this when half the players have no clue at all at what is happening. I got killed by 20+ iggies at our gem altar when I ran to defend it there alone.

6) At this point I had enough, logged off and went to bed. I really didn't see the fun in it to be honest.

7) And what gives with the Alsiusian dev's dwarf? Was that even a dwarf...

All I can think is like we are at the expense of the devs, they can show up any time they want and decide what to do, and the playing herd follows them without preset goals or plans. Fun? Far from it.

Hmm of course there is no preset plan because the dev's just logged on. What happened in alsius was dev came on, talked a little then we went to syrtis to invade. We made a plan on the bridge to herb we split up and went to do it. One of our teams got beaten too but it didn't stop us, and the whole experience was supposed to be fun with so many people online, for me anyways, it was. Having the dev's show up i think is fun and i hope it happened alot more often because then we get more war and less grinding

wow, I really envy you guys

since I can't play RO atm (really slow internet here, if at all) I missed out all the fun

but its great to hear alsius actually made a zerg, and invaded!
and congratz to ignis for getting two superbosses and gem!
(erm, I didn't hear any syrtis accomplishments so sorry for not mentioning any :P)

Well, isn't that a sick twisted irony? First they make a "war" game where players need to grind to their deaths to have any chance of warring at all and then they themselves show up to stop people from grinding to fight a war (assuming what you say is right).

Nonetheless, those who had a blast and enjoyed it, good for you.

Alsius read the forums last week and everyone talked about this in realm chat for days before the event, we helped each other to figure out what local time it is for everyone for the event and so on.. Very nice to see that Alsius definitely can organize themselfs when they want to

It had almost nothing to do with the fact we had one giant barb running with us.
