This update just sucks, it has taken out all funny and dynamics aspects...
And made this game "less premium based" ofc

Mh i dont know, i still have most fun on marksman, but i dont play the sniping centered marks since it always was boring as hell. Theres no class we have bad odds against. Its not a big nerf in killing power when it comes to 1vs1 what we got.(RvR even less changed, dps is even higher when standing still)
The change is in the gameplay. I kind of adapted very well, using switching much between fast and med bow as fast just feels more involving and allows some strafing in between shots (even when dps is even lower with fasts now). For those who lost the fun in marksman i propose to try a new setup and change their playing style to a more close to target one - before pushing their marks in inactivity. So try some things (if you didnt yet): Try a normal 15 tricks built with 4parabolic since effective range on running away ones got decreased greatly (6-8m) Tricks15:amush4,stunfist4,reta4 Evasion19:mobility5,acro5,SoW5(when you enough mana, lvl1 is enough for most situations anyway ) sb7 lb15: para4 specialist4 aiming13: stratpos3 arrows19: recharged5,Winter5(!),ethereal5,arcana/serpent5 whatever. You can check for my current setup here (fixed) You are well set for 1vs1 vs any class and have nice combat control and speed in case you need to run. While Tricks builts seem to take away "proper marks way to play" as you got to lose range and ranged defenses, it gives you many tools to actually have fun and help your mates. Do PvPs in arena as well as eg. on amun. All the many choices of spells you got with this config has to be trained to go automatically in wars. Also you learn much about common tactics other classes will use when charging, since RvR ends up in PvP situations when it comes to use of skills. Some basics for the fun (since most no-fun is losing badly in an even 1vs1 without knowing what went wrong) Vs UMd barbs: SoW on ~range 15(to not eat stun), reta 1st normal hit, , stunfist (you could even use confuse if the barb not used spring/ons yet)-> excapist in time -> mobility on end of boost. Well now run till the skull is gone then use ambush&freeze for the win. VS locks(at least on horus you hardly see MoD in 1vs1): (Parabolic+hits till lock approaches) SoW on range 32, end of into freeze, go behind to not eat almost instant mentals if you didnt confuse, freeze gives you time as the char has to turn before cast), stunfist on end, ambush on end. If the lock isnt dead at that time get a tree or be prolly dead. knights: use CCs and hope he doesnt block, either use confuse once you think he might aoo, if hes aoo look up the thread anout dealing with aoo(run:P). Mana preservation and not getting slowed down is the key. Hunters: If you ate an ambush and the hunter goes SoW on your standup (and you ate NO confuse) -> SoW, freeze on pet, buff up, kill pet with help of stunfist, ambush+ confuse on hunter once the pet is dead and SoW ran off. If you face each other unbuffed uncamod -> SoW, buff, kill pet. just dont forget confuse as the hunter runs off otherwise. These Hints are 1 vs 1, yes, still should be of some help in RvR situations. Really, Marks still is fun, and not because of any uber items. Just the gameplay is more static especially on sniping builds, so just give it a try. Hope to see makrs back ingame in the future (atm they are really rare). Take care (and forgive bad grammar, bad readability and spelling) (Eh and dont feel insulted or sth, ofc all experienced players know these stuff but its meant as some push for the less experienced to give it another try before giving up..) I had serious issues with my conjurer at first, but figured it out eventually. Mental + Zarkit is a little more complicated than SM + Zarkit for grinding, but more fun and gives me more options in the end. Playing support for war is still a bit tricky, but I'm learning spell cast times better and training myself to start moving as soon as I know the spell will still finish casting. All in all, I like the update. I feel like I'm actually more fluid and flexible than before the update, it just takes a new gameplay skill (knowing when I can move).

I've found that the updates for the past 6 months have really been bad. The game does feel very static. I quit playing my conj after he hit 50 and created a lock and hunter. The lock was fun to play and I leveled him up to about 40. I found playing the hunter was still fun through the updates until this last update. This last update, I find myself stopping to shoot an error and getting beat to death.
To say the least, I've all but stopped playing. I occasionally log in to see how things are going. The time between logs are getting greater and greater as I'm sorry to say that I'm tired of the constant nerfs and changes in game play. It's just not fun anymore. |
