An Almost True Historical Story from the Alsius Archives (Horus) #4
Part 1:
Rhanya was interested in the soul altar near Trelle for many reasons. One was that it seemed to have the same exact runic markings that the altar near Stone had. What made these altars call the life force of the fallen back and resurrect them as they had been prior to falling? Why did these altars have the same runic markings and the same ethereal fires burning? If these altars all have the same runic markings, how is it that they only work for the warriors of a specific land? All these questions seemed to race through her head. While she was gathering her thoughts Kianoni appeared behind her. “Well the area around here is still clear, I don't think I understand your fascination with the soul altar. I just hope something good can come from the understanding of them,” Kia said. “These altars were here prior to us, they call us back here when we die, and only those from our realm can use them. In Syrtis it is much of the same, only Syrts can use the altars in that land. Why is that so? I wonder if these altars have a connection to the fabled Soul Monger.” Rhanya appeared to get lost in thought again. At that moment Kinsa appeared behind Rhanya and Kianoni. “Hey you guys, we are going to strike Stone. The Syrts appear to be gathering at their small party and our initial information indicates they plan to hit Pinos. We could do it by ourselves, but if you would like to come we would welcome the assistance.” Kia looked at Kinsa, “Well I guess if it will protect our lands I am in, I need to tame a new pet along the way though.” Rhanya looked down trodden, her work would have to be put on hold. Without Kia scanning for her, she was susceptible to an ambush. “I will come too then, the faster we can take care of the threat the faster I can get back to my work.” With that Rhanya and Kia followed Kinsa to puente pinos where Tyr's Zorn had gathered in preparation for the coming battle. All the same faces from the battle at Samal were present minus the full complement of fighters from Masters of Noobs. This was a little unsettling to Rhanya, not only was she back with the people who did not help her at Samal, she did not have conjurers she could trust with her. If she were to fall she would get a first hand experience of her soul being ripped and sent back to the Soul Altar where she would have to wait to be resurrected. While this tempted her objective mind focused on study of the altars, it offended her personally. Flens seeing the arrival of Kinsa, Kia and Rhanya immediately greeted them, “Prost!” “Prost!” from Healerous, “Prost!” replied Kinsa, “Prost!” from Illuminati, “Prost!” from Irodia Blitzkrieg, “Prost!” from Exodus, “Prost!” from Cortez and a final “Prost!” from Germany. Rhanya and Kia replied with a prost of their own. Flens looking at them after the pleasant greetings were over began to speak the plan Tyr's had settled on. “Alright we are going to use the beach path to travel to Stone. This is a more direct route and it will allow us to avoid all of those cyclops that obscure our vision of incoming enemies. The beach has only a minor threat of Aquantis that anyone of us can handle so the risk is minimal. This route will also provide us with the ability to avoid detection by the Syrtian hunters as we us the terrain to obscure their tracking ability. Once we complete our trek from the beach we will rus h the Fort and kill anyone inside. This will discourage the greens from trying to attack Pinos.” The plan seemed to be well formed, thought out and concise. This communication somewhat put Rhanya's mind at ease from the previous battle and she actually looked forward to attacking Stone. In a likewise state Kia seemed anxious to attack the Fort as well. With that they set off to take the fight once more to the Syrtians. Kia reported through the clan rune that the Fort had not been secured and only a handful of the typical syrtian inept guards were present. The rush was on and with that Rhanya closed her eyes in anticipation. Rhanya awoke at the altar, resurrected near Kia. Tyr's Zorn were no where in sight. “What the f*ck was that?!?” Kia yelled loudly. “I don't know, the altar apparently has some sort of fugue state associated with it. In a little while we maybe able to recall what happened” Rhan replied though her eyes looked like she was attempting to search deeply in the recess of her mind for an answer. They decided it was not the best for them to stand out by the altar out in the open in their current state and made way for Pinos. When they arrived at Pinos they over heard the gate guards speaking about how Tyr's Zorn had taken over Stone and had then head for Samal. The flashes then began for Kia, he saw brief glimpses of images of the last remaining minutes he was a live in Stone. In these mental images Tyr's was no where around, it was just Rhan and him. Alone in Stone while the Syrts were breaking the gate. A flash of a memory from before then hit him, the Fort was theirs and the Tyr's had asked if he could scout the Syrtian Market to see if any Syrts were coming. By the time he had come back from scouting only Rhan was in the Fort. Rhan started to have slight flashbacks as well. Kia had gone to scout the market area. All the Tyr's had fallen silent. Rhan decided to see if she could get a better vantage point from the tower to see if Kia would come back alone or have the dogs of Syrtis behind him. For a time she could only see the Forest to the South West, the ocean near Central Island to the West and North West, and the plain leading towards the Syrtian Market. All was very quiet. She decidec that maybe it was better to get on the parabet since Kia was a dwarf after all and might be missed from such a height. When she moved down the tower she found she was a lone. Kia appeared in the Fort with an alarmed expression on his face. “Where the hell are the Tyr's?” he said frantically. As he said that a rush of fire could be seen outside that engulfed the inept guards that had been assigned to protect the gate. The fire disapated and the chipping of steel against the wooden gate had begun. “They have a couple barbarians, a conjurer and a lock out there. This does not bode well for us.” Kia said as he rushed to catch his breath. With that Rhanya began to work her magic and a black ring of energy encircled her. “At least this may give us some time to fight back,” she said as she poured her magic through the gate openings that had been created. “This will at least stop the conjurer from healing them.” Kia ran up the parapet and began to unfirl his arrows at the conjurer. The arrows looked to be on mark, but were repelled by a magic barrier. His pet had been killed by the warlock and his arrows were not serving him well at all right now. Rhanya shot blasts of crystals through the openings in the door, trying to stop or slow down the impending collapes of the gate. Through the openings in the gate caused by the conflict she could see a barbarian with an axe and an executor helm looking at her intently. Oro the Manslayer saw his target within the fort and would not let up his relentless pounding on the gate, knowing soon it will collapse and the fort would belong to Syrtis once more. Zodar unleashed his own blast of crystals through the openings and sent Rhanya flying back as they richocheted off of her magic barrier. Umaril began to hold closer to the door in order to avoid more attacks from that hunter on the parapet. Vortigern was running up to the fort to reinforce Oro and Mele's pounding on the gate. Wit h that extra bit of strength the gate came tumbling down. Rhanya felt Mele's hammer disapate her magic barrier, crushing her staff arm and lastly felt the sting of Oro's axe sliced through her vitals as she fell. Kianoni felt instant pain as Umaril summoned a swarm of vines that entangled his legs. The last thing Kia heard was the whirling of the wind as a meteor crashed down on him from the sky, coutesy of Zodar. Both Kia and Rhan were seven shades of fire at the realization that they were left behind to be slaughtered by the greens. Just then Hipshot appeared behind them. “Kia, Rhan; Kinsa asks if you could meet them at PP in order to attack Stone again.” Hipshot unaware of the web he was walking said it calmly and without pause. “You can tell that...” Kia was cut off by Rhan, “tell Kinsa that Tyr's can go a head on their own and we may reinforce them.” Within 30 minutes Kinsa was walking on her way to Pinos back from the soul altar. Kinsa saw Rhan and thus the cat fighting began. “Why didn't you come to PP? We could of really used your help back their Rhan,” Kinsa said. “Because you are the embodiment of arrogance, you and your clan. You left Kia and me to die back their at Stone and you deserved no less than what we got. Even back at Samal when I was hit your conjurers left me to die and walked right past me. Who's realm are you working for anyways? It seems to me that you are working only for yourselves and the rest of us are just tools as a means to an end.” Rhanya was trying to remain as calm as possible, but the beligerant tone would not be silenced. “Oh so now we are straight talking, alright I like that. Well the conjurers you spoke of are not healers, they are warjurers, so expecting a heal from them is wishful thinking. The healing conjurers were inside the fort away from where you were fighting. Also one of your conjurers was warjuing as well so I don't think you can really complain about ours.” Kinsa was being matter-of-fact about everything and it only seemed to egg on further discussion. “Well we have also tried to setup duels with Syrts who are not a part of the main green zerg so we can get better training in fighting them. The other day while we were near PP2 Cortez ruined our duel by killing the Syrt even though we Cortez not too. Your clan may have a lot of experience in the war zone, but your clan mates put themselves on lofty pedestals and do whatever they feel like ruining training for Alsians who are trying to learn.” Rhanya seemed a little less agitated at this point. “If you want to duel a green then you should not do it near a bridge, go some where secret where you can fight. You can't expect people to not fight against an enemy who is out in the open where there are no rules to stop them from doing so,” again Kinsa replied matter-of-factly.

An Almost True Historical Story from the Alsius Archives (Horus) #4
Part 2:
“If there are no rules then at least you should have respect for your fellow realm-mates! In addition, why is their always silence? We get the first bit of information when you are finished planning and then we are cut off from everything. No communication is like fighting alone by yourself without any support. That is why you are arrogant. You don't communicate, you don't respect your fellow Alsians and you only think of yourselves.” Rhanya was a bit out of steam at this point, feeling a large bit of weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. “Well I do concede to your point about silence, we are overly reliant on our clan rune to speak to each other and may leave others out. Though I think your other rants are bullsh!t. We respect you and that is why we asked you and Kia to join us at Stone. Also we have never received an invitation from Masters of Noobs to join anything so how are we only thinking of ourselves if we are inviting others and others do not invite us?” Kinsa then looked at Rhanya as if expecting a cold calculated response. “I grow tired of arguing with you. This is getting old very quickly. I can speak volumes about my points, but I grow tired of you missing the point and trying to spin everything I say to be bullsh!t. You are not going to change my opinion of you and your clan. I still think your clan lacks respect, honor and a lot of other things. So until you can prove me wrong my feelings will not change, your actions will speak louder than your hollow words today.” With that Rhanya stomped off towards Pinos Market. Kia on the other hand, during this whole argument could only think of Rhanya and Kinsa wrestling in a mud pit while he drank mead and placed bets on who would win. Apparently the inept guards at Pinos thought the same as they had started pouring water on the ground. How disappointed they must have been when it didn't happen, but hey at least they can play it out in their minds. Next Chapter: Sytian Body Swapping? What are Vaina, Syd, Rhan and La doing in syrtian bodies? Who's writing this crap?

Oh and... You didn't mention Mr. T H C // Refetan when naming the Tyr's. If my memory serves me, he has well moved from Syrtis to Alsius by that point in your stories. |

I think Refe started up in Alsius in October when Rhan, Vain, La and I had our syrtian switch. I don't think I remember him until late October when I started switching back. The rift between Kinsa and Rhan may have played out on the forums later in October, but I am bringing it up a little earlier since it was a part of the motivation for some people to check out syrtis before the laundry was aired out for everyone. So this part of the story only represents late September.
