I think you draw in such writers ( which I don't agree that they are shit writers as you put it) because your supposition is on shaky ground.
I read your opening post and it still does not convince me that this is a necessary thing as against something that satisfies your personal need. The real question is will this bring something positive to the game as a whole? Personally I don't think so. The auction house does not need a pseudo currency when it can already be easily exchanged for the proper tender. Also, trading in the auction house has a fee (if I remember properly) which is important as a sink to sap up the excess liquidity of gold. Don't underestimate the value of gold sinks in MMOs. Also , your arguments are shaky . A level 20 or even 30 for that matter does not need heavy gear and as a matter of fact, they can sell the same magnanite they pick up to acquire the gold they need. At that level, they also do a lot of drops and thanks to the generosity of the developers, boosts abound. As such they can afford by selling their drops. Your argument is not rock solid. |

I do not see enough decent argument that would not make Magnas as currency in the auction. I did a POL ... very productive. With disputes, friction. From this truth is born. but there is one problem: because those who wrote here the old players. You are blind. Spend time (about 12 hours per day) in the Inner Realm, chat with new members, and you will see how much clobbered you have opinion.

Because 10 minutes inner realm is enough to debunk any of his theories. (12 hours ?? , I barely spend 2 hrs on any given day in the game total)
My assertion is simple. Sell drops > get gold> buy equipment. Collect 5 mags, sell them> collect gold , buy gear. Level 20 to 30 goes by fast. You can sell by AH you can sell magnas privately. What applied eons ago applies now. Until you are 40 + you do not need super gear and odds are you are going to drop all the stuff you need. My level 15 ( for tests) drops shitloads of stuff and has accumulated over 200k in gold. It uses regular stuff and levels up at a fast clip. It has 30 mags which I could liquidate at any time for a bargin price. I won't need them for trade until I am 50 +. Any low level who has problems with this is probably taking advice from the wrong folks. Bottom line : Magna trading in auction house will corrupt and kill the gold market. Gold is the only legal tender. Magna is a mineral. A mineral that is easily converted to gold. End of story. |

Voted no. Since the introduction of the auction house, gold has some value and use whereas before everyone wanted magna for items. I was able to find some decent bits of armour and weapons in the auction house for gold.
If magna becomes a form of currency, I'm fairly certain most people will opt to sell their items for magna rather than gold, thus making gold a useless currency once more. So, no. |
