Its the truth, almost impossible to grind without pet. Unless you're equipped with OP gears.

hm... i used to play pet coz my arrows and bow are bad... its worth IMO, when u like to gank ppl. nothing else.
if u want a pet setup, dont forget to have at least the passive of speed, coz when ur pet die (it does alot) u can spam ensnares + run to try escaping till take the pet back.
I have the same probl that u mentioned, petless lvl 60 with low dmg, IMO break appart + high lvl retal should compensate the dmg the enemy have better then u, but sometimes more hits r needed, then investing more in speed and in dex should be enough to be playable.

not mentioning that pet setup sucks for almost all situation where u have 1 or more allies with u.

well, just though

Bullshit. The fact that you can't do it doesn't mean that nobody can do it.

Grinding without a pet can be done easy enough, but you're slowing yourself down imo. Pet grinding is a lot easier to do than petless.

As for the low damage, as someone else mentioned, use sudden strike, dirty fighting and DOT; but i would suggest more importantly not trying to rush the fight, keep your defense buffed. Even with average damage you will have the person to at least 1/2 hp before confuse comes off of them.

Imho the worst way to play hunter is always staying at range; against marksmen and hunters that only comes down to a damage contest - this takes no skill. This is how most people play when they get dragon amulets - they stay at range (Examples: Kanadian, Annavilya). I've pvped hunters with dragon amulets and rings, they always stay at range for as long as possible, some even try to kite lol.

Against warriors or mages, staying too far away makes them lose interest, Elva stayed 30m away from my knight when trying to grind gank me, so i just turned the completely opposite way and ran away.

Agree, I've come to the conclusion that people who play this way do so because they don't believe they can win a fight based on more than a simple exchange of damage and defense. I don't know why anyone would risk letting your enemy escape, just so you can stay at max range. The only benefit you gain is that you also have more opportunity to escape, but that's not really a benefit unless you plan on losing

Not sure what you mean here.
Your guide is interesting, let's hope you're not becoming a new Hepha...

Attack rate is slower, yes. That's why short fast bows are the best option. If you do it right attack rate is only a little bit slower, but you don't have to wait i.e. for your pet to move to another target. You don't have to bother to take care of your pet at all. If you set your mob path properly, you're busy all the time, without losing significant amount of mana and health.

He means that you are too scared to go forward and do some close combat. He also means that you think an amulet will help you win the battle from range 30. I suppose you lost your skill when that gear gave you a mild advantage

I can ofcourse confirm what he means.
