Honestly, while it's true that the game is far to be perfect and really needs some work on certain points plus some more 'friendliness' to newcomers, more than half of this bashing are just from clueless trolls that tested the game for 2 minutes and deserve to be ignored.

I agree with this, the "reviews" on the website are hardly constructive, and seem as impression of the first ten seconds of the game to a ten year old kid.

Some of those comments on the steam forum are obvious shills, the tab to select thread is a good example, there's also a lot of "this games BS, play XYZ instead" in Alsius chat atm too. This kind of BS has been going on with games for years, guess its one downside of steam that RO will be getting a lot more exposure to it.

Their lack of knowledge of RO gets them discredited quickly though and RO isn't an easy target for them, it just does what it does and there's a place for every type of combatant, from tactical thinking to mindless violence. Inner chat was active when I started playing, that and the curiosity of what was going on at these forts kept me interested until I got to see some battles and then the desire to hit 'em back got me through that bloody horrible grind.

This could reach critical mass and become really big, that's a lot of people trying out RO and most here are proof that once its got you bitten you cant get away.,

Yeah, but remember that we are first in the Free to Play list and still on the frontpage in the top 10 new releases.

Of course! The game has its flaws, and we all agree on the troll issue, so: for now it's been great days for Regnum. I love seeing players come and go like in the old times when Ra was growing!

Indeed, though I quit at the moment (badly disappointed after the discovery of getting BAD laggs and FPS drops when equipping my new Magna LB) I still love the game and no-one will ever be able to convince me it's bad (let's leave it unknown whether I convinced myself already or not ). Anyway, I look forward to the 10-(hopefully)50% that makes it to the warzone and I bet these way too HUGE castles will be more fun to fight in.

I've seen Regnum grow (and shrink) in the past and I've always loved it, I hope so bad that this is the little boost it needs and that it can live up to its potential.

Wellllll … Regnum is a MMO. And MMOs get bashed like no other game genre.

I don’t know what you expected, but I really didn’t expect there to be any positive voice except existing players. I’m quite active on a large German forum, and when SWTOR came out, oh boy it got torn to pieces (Rightfully so I think, that game is crap)

Don't get too upset about it, as i've seen it in other steam games, this kind of behaviour eventually settles.
The people that do remain are those who take a more serious look at the game and the community, ignore the mess that is steam community forums and decide if they honestly like the game or not.

Luckily those people are in the majority.
So don't get distracted by a minority, no matter how loud it may be, and help the newcomers feel at home. It's all you can do.

If steam has an active community with honest views then RO should really fly. Strange I've never seen the steam forums come up when searching for games as I'd guess it would be one of the most reliable sources.
