Lack of drop and xp boosts makes this game very frustrating to new players. Big part of the reason why most of them leave, even the persistent ones. They way it is now, with exponential exp slope, it almost looks like you want to prevent new players from staying.
And yes, we need GMs to deal with bugs like wandering NPCs, 'swimming' pendants and maybe also to with people who enjoy ganking the same lvl 10 grinder a dozen times in a row during invasion (welcome back Tigerious). If you don't want to reinstate the old gm model, you could instead make an ingame report tool for bugs. A GM would log in once or twice per day, read the report list and fix the reported problems. For this purpose, it would be easier and faster than the current support ticket model. |

In the past we didnt have any boosts at all, Hell we didnt even have scrolls, we didnt have realm tasks... nothing, just grind, grind, grind. And the xp curve to get lvl 50 was much and much harder than now. So wtf r you complaining about? |

But today we have moms with minivans and suv's. Really, the answer is relevant, as is the edit in the quote. These kids nowadays wouldn't wait for a 56k dial-up web page to load, they certainly do not want to grind and will quit instead. Gen Y is all about "I wants it and I wants it NOW!" I like there to be some grind in a game to get rid of those people that refuse to put in the time to learn to play, but without new blood this game was dying, was on a downward slope. One universal truth is 'if it isn't growing, it is dying.' Again, I am not talking about exp. boots myself, although I do like them, I am talking about not being able to kill quest mobs for days because it wandered off, and the other items I talked about in the op and other things people have pointed out up to now. We need the GMs to handle these things or the game will die. |
