Ok...heres my summary:
The character selection screen is a bit off, the graphics are topsy turvy. I remember the first time I saw this new feature, it was almost perfect with the exception of the lighting and the sky, so youve got it right previously. The screenshot isnt quite correct though in terms of the size of the RO window. http://i47.tinypic.com/2eav6sl.jpg And I find that if you rotate the camera on the selection screen, the hair goes white. And the sea is red. (This screenshot is more accurate in size of RO window) http://i49.tinypic.com/20frfaq.jpg The bloom on lights is overdone. They're just big white balls of blindness. You can also see sky problems. http://i47.tinypic.com/11v61z7.jpg Further sky antics: http://i48.tinypic.com/214o55c.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/96kc49.jpg Plus, the ground is a little red. Oh, and the lighthouse light doesn't show up. http://i49.tinypic.com/14tw6f.jpg And this is VERY red ground. http://i50.tinypic.com/240zxbl.jpg This one shows my FPS. It hasnt really changed at all since last update. I was just wondering if NGD could do anything about the low FPS, or is it that my computer is too slow/old? http://i48.tinypic.com/2hf71c2.jpg Im also getting basic shadows now which is good, and more NPCs have popped up so I can complete quests too. Microsoft XP Home Edition, Dell Dimension DM051, Intel (R), Pentium (R), D CPU 2.66GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM and Physical Address Extension. EDIT: Im using OpenGL. Direct 3D refuses to work for me.

AMD Turion 64 X2 / 4GB RAM / ATI Radeon HD 3100 (using Catalyst 9.6 driver) / 64-bit Gentoo Linux
I used this client throughout Syrtis invasion attempts on Alsius this morning. I didn't crash even once in several hours of play, and for the first time I was able to fight at a realm gate without slideshow level FPS. Great work in making the game feel more fluid! There was one case where client became unresponsive for several minutes. I died at Imperia, in a fight involving 30+ players, and countdown to rez froze, graphics froze, but I could still hear sound effects of fighting. Eventually the client unfroze when most of the people around me were dead and I was able to resurrect. These are the problems I encountered (most of them have already been reported in this thread):
Some existing issues also remain:

tested it on two systems:
AMD Phenom X2 545 3.00 GHz, Radeon HD 4650 (Catalyst 9.10), 2 GB RAM, Arch Linux 64bit The client runs stable without bad graphic issues. The sound (blowing wind etc.) and the moving trees in the swamp are awesome! The FPS is in normal horus fort wars at about 20 fps, alone mostly 30 to 50 fps with good graphic preferences like in the screenshots. To get better fps it helps a lot to set post process and multitexturing very low. With low post process there is much less bloom. http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/2222/screenshot200911 http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/864...9112103272.jpg Intel Pentium 4 2.66GHz, GeForce4 Ti 4200 (driver: NVIDIA-96xx 96.43.14), 768 MB RAM, Fedora 11 Playable with force safe mode. The game runs a bit more fluent than on the old engine. The glass of the Eferias castle door was from the inside of the castle totally invisible. The attached error log is from this system. http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/1...9112122002.jpg http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/1...9112122592.jpg http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/863...9112123495.jpg Last edited by Cuchulainn; 11-22-2009 at 10:51 AM. |

Same previous system, crash backtrace seems truncated:
./game(_ZN10ClientBase14save_backtraceEv+0x69) [0x8250cc9] ./game(_ZN10ClientBase12client_crashEi+0xf) [0x82511bf] [0xb7846400] that was all, all I did was pick up a rock about 20m east of Gokstad and it crashed.

Intel Celeron 2,53GHz / 768M RAM / nvidia Geforce FX5200 (manufacturer manli) / archlinux
When i start launcher i see 2 modes - fixed shader and shader 2.0. Performance in shader mode is very very bad. Half of screen isnt visible at all. Somehow my haircolor (and beard sometimes) is different everytime i login, i dont know this may be a feature. Its a bit better in fixed shader mode (safe mode). I got over 20 FPS sometimes while i'm moving. Screenshots shader 2.0 mode: snapshot3.jpgscreenshot 2009-11-22 11_29_26.jpg Screenshots safe mode: snapshot4.jpgscreenshot 2009-11-22 11_35_43.jpg Performance is very bad at all and game seems to be unplayable at this tiime. I also have a nvidia mx440 (agp8x) card but there is no any textures when start on it (there is no groud ans sky). Drivers which im using are the latest. Apart from some initial sound trouble, which turned out to be due to the Ubuntu updater apparently having the bad manners of reinstalling pulseaudio for me without asking, I didn't encounter any problems whatsoever. My impression is the FPS is quite better, even with at 1680x1050 resolution and all the blingbling levers maxed. It still sucks to play marksman though, so it won't do me a bleeding good. Didn't try it in a crowd as there is nothing for me to do in WZ under the current circumstances.
Linux 2.6.31, Intel core2quad, 4G ram, nvidia gts250 with 185.18.36-driver, intel 82801JI (hd) audio and ALSA. ...maybe there is some issue with initial loading of resources. My chars hair was gray (rather than brown) on the first start-up but was normal on the next go. One ambient sound file that is played occasionally in Herulf's Slope (west upper side in particular) and at some other locations sounds like a chainsaw cutting sheet metal or a misfiring weapon from Star Trek.
