I meant that if you resist: side which casted spell can be frustrated.
If your spell resisted: you are almost always frustrated too.

I'm sure you will also resist.

However I will concur that ambush seems more prone to failure than other spells, maybe its just more noticeable as explained before with perspectives as it tends to be used when someone is running directly at/away from you. But it does at least feel like it fails a lot.
