I have to say that SOW is sometimes the right spell to cast early on, particularly when facing multiple enemies.

Examples:

- When a zarkit is hitting you for 400-500 a shot. (it's silly to stand there and take that kind of dmg, when you can avoid it with SOW.)

- When facing archers, particularly ones you know who use confuse.

- When mod is being used against you.

In 1v1 encounters i rarely use it (usually only if i'm in real trouble or the opponent is an archer and he/she uses it first)...

So you are basically saying you are using SoTW all the time.
Do you have any clue how annoying it is if your enemy has an instant invincible spell.
You have no Armor to speak of and little HP.

I had 2 great moment yesterday. First was when I finished that SotW hunter with a spiritual blow that landed through his SotW. The second was killing a hunter that attacked me while I was coming back from AFK. He almost got me, but I totally finished him

I know it is suppposed to be an RvR game, but 1v1 fights are a regular feature, and i think a feature that most players would want to keep.

However, as things are i think it is true to say that the only class to beat an archer 1v1, is another archer. (There will obvious exceptions, but i would say that this is the general rule.)

I feel kinda bad for the other classes about this...

well, this is a must be, escpecially for marksmen. They have no other skills to cast on allies. Every class has buffs/aura for allies, but archer have not (only spell on allies is stalker that hunters have). For this they have to be better in 1v1.

sotw is not never ending spell. it ll stop once after timer goes out. whats now duration of SotW? 20sec? there only needs less duration, other things are just fine atm according to name of spell (Son of the Wind).

I think the SoTW issue has already been discussed a lot, so we are beating a dead corpse.

The point i am trying to make is, when warloks were at the top of the food chain we knew which spells not to use in order to keep the imbalances on an acceptable level. And it just felt wrong to use them against weaker classes.
That way of thinking is long gone.

once game was beta, now its not. game changed so players too.

game population is mostly spanish speaking players, you cant do much with them nor learn them of some good manners in war and such. Even in English community sometimes you cant learn all, but one group. That group, when becomes group of very respected fighters, will be example for others who would like to change their wrong style, IF tey want to change. tht affects also if they are mature and aware of it or not.

Atm, current stage of game is: gather as many as possible rps (since now all can see their rps). How many times you saw recently PvP where some pt comes and interrupts it, hungry of "free" rps, trying to finish wounded enemy?
Or how many times you come to one place, they say: PvP, you chill then and stand to watch and then tons of Alsius appear clearing whole area?
How many times you can see very rude hunter who stands at altar trying to get free rps? Today, one very very little pt, tried that.
And remember how much save camping was year before. And also check amount of old players vs new ones. Math is there simple, solution is very bad
but thats the way it is, you cant do much to change it, but at least you can still try with one group or your new clan members. group by group, clan by clan, better overall performance.
