who said anything about this being from the point of view of a hunter?
I have SEVERAL chars, all of which have taken forts alone before this update.
It was easy, now it's much harder and not something you can do alone, which is good. Yes .... it is difficult to re-take a fort when the numbers are so high from the ones who took the fort, versus the few trying to re-take it back. Yesterday, it took us nearly an hour to re-take Trelle, but that's to be expected when it's 50 - 15 ....we have gotten used to it. Not to mention taking trelle, then hanging out in the save for us to rez ..... it's a total slaughter, and very frustrating. The update has made fort fights better, it takes organization, and teamwork to take a fort now, as it should.

And BTW Znurre, you are absolutely correct ......... I think we should get the message as soon as the fort door starts getting attacked.

honestly all you have to do to take a fort when outnumbered is use a little strategy

just an hour ago ignis took samal back from syrtis who outnumbered us 2 - 1

its not so very hard if you use strategy and have some intelligent players to play with

the real problem with the new invasion implementations arent the forts, yet maybe the continued unbalance of the classes and unwillingness to work together

What I don't like in new fort fights now, is that it takes so many people to break a door that now when the door break you won't ever see the defense hold the fort for half an hour like used to see before.

So when a realm is under populated (i don't speak about being outnumbered here), there can be 1 or 100 opponents in the fort, there won't be enough people to break the door for the defending (those who take the fort back) realm anyway, here is the real problem. This morning attempt to free Menirah was particulary pathetic.


If a team can't take a fort, it should be because the guards, who are amazingly weak atm instead of the door. It's not a RvDoor game, and all i do since the update is breaking doors.

25 minutes for breaking a door with 2 barbs 50 and 1 knight 50 +2 mages with no enemies you call it tactics ? What tactics tell me ? Do we need some diploms or stuff... or even thinking ? Even a 6 years old kid could understand how to break a door.

my statement is simple... your attempt on meni was pathetic because your results mirror your efforts

taking a fort with a small group against one or even outnumbering oponents isnt as hard as you make it out to be. so what if the doors hard to break it makes for better wars ESPECIALY when the home/defending realm is outnumbered it makes for more fun and enjoyable wars it give them more of a chance to defend their home soil(i speak of an experience of ignis VS alsius me being on the ignis side at aggersborg)

so really your main complaint is what? that you alone cant take down a door? or that you're really just too impacient to deal with it?

and breaking a door takes quite a bit of tactics if the fort is occupied, as does defending it. focusing on dealing damage to the door and watching out for barbs and others popping out to kill you while killing the archers and mages up on the wall to keep their player count down, id say thats quite a bit of tactics if you do it with minor casualties

Alone... we were 5.

I'm just saying that guards should be stronger and doors weaker, guards were (and have never been) not a problem, you're a knight, you know what i mean.

It's just to replace a stupid and boring door attack with a fight with guards.

Nothing more.

This isn't true. Ask Syrtis about the fight against Alsius at Herb yesterday. We took Herb with what I'd consider a small party for fort capture, and held it after the door broke until the majority of our party logged and we went looking for trouble elsewhere.

You are talking about Horus arent you? Because in Horus, there is barely any Syrtis in the WZ

It depends on the time of day. At the fight I specified Syrtis held the superior numbers.

interesting because from what i've seen its usually syrtis who outnumbers everyone still even in horus, hoever the past few days there have been nearly no wars and its kinda sad ignis has now painted the map red with no oposition kinda like when the server started...
