Joking aside from my last post here, i honor my realm by helping players wherever i can, (be it helping kick out hunting parties, information for quests or advice for setups)
i dont trust any other realm players who stand there waving and bowing (to this there are a couple of exceptions) reason being, while they are waving and bowing, they are calling in their realm mates - seen it once too often so regardsless of who they are (exceptions excluded) they are fair prey as for grandeur - it has no place in this game i think

I have to admit it used to really annoy me when a hunter higher lvl than myself repeatedly showed up near my realm gate and killed me while grinding. I took it as a lesson in how to play the game however by simply adopting their tactic and going to their gate area and killing their realms players lower lvl than myself while while grinding. My grinding still gets interupted but at least i get the satisfaction of payback in kind. What comes around goes around.

Of course, everyone chooses his own tactic and style of war actions. Ones who wanna be terrorist killing every enemy they meet, dont regards level, hp left or position, may act this way and, no doubt, they will. Those who want to show grandeur in wz will show it anyway.
As for me, I love wild party hunt where every enemy caught by us will be bashed and smashed as if he got into deadly storm. On the other hand, in single PvP I dont find any fun to kill weak or hardly wounded opponent (im married and dont fap on RP ). Fighting with close levels, especially different class, is competition in tactics, skilling and artfulness of war. Even defeats show me my weak sides and help to tune better my setup, advance tactics and so on. Also I understand what spared enemy optionally may kill me unfair in future. But it was my choice to show mercy and it will be his choice to doesn't. |

My random thoughts on honor in Regnum:
Normally, I kill every opponent I get the chance to. I try to be somewhat honorable when the opportunity arises though. Last year I took my conjurer hunting alone, and found a low-level warrior grinding, near death. I killed him from behind. About 5 minutes later, I found the same guy, again fighting a mob, low on HP. I hit him a couple times, got him near death, then stopped shooting, because there was no point in killing him again. I stopped, he turned, bowed, I bowed back, and went on my way. I left with a good feeling, much nicer than the 5 RP I would have gotten. A few minutes later, he created an Alsius character, logged in, and asked why I didn't kill him. Anyway it was an opportunity to make a friend, and I felt honored that he did this. A couple days ago, a friend and myself knocked a low-level (30 or less) mage from a horse, and got them near death, then stopped attacking. We figured it was somebody new probably wanting to explore, and no big wars were going on. We waved at each other for a minute, prepared to let them go, then they zapped one of us with their staff, so we finished the job. Again, I felt good, because I gave the newcomer a chance to live. On the other hand, I can be a real jerk if pissed off. I was killed most dishonorably by a syrtis barbarian a few weeks ago. I and another Alsius were fighting side by side with some Syrtis, attempting to invade Ignis. Suddenly this syrtis barbarian turns on me and kills me. Well I can say honestly I've killed or helped to kill him more than 50 times since then. He's the first to receive my Death Sentence when he charges in battle, and rarely lives more than 5 seconds after that. Payback's a bitch. |

shooting at them to near death is toying with them. there's less honor in that then straight killing em. i'd say you're even less honorable then ppl that molest low lvl grinders.
