You see, My comiler is DevC++. Ill post some screenies later on what problems I am haveing. Its saying a bunch of files are not defined and such

It just annoys non-linux users. It's at the end of the execution workflow, anyway, so no harm was done.

Surely it's not too hard to pass a definition of linux to the preprocessor anyway?

Yes, it is:
g++ input.c -Dlinux

Well yes of course it's easy with GCC, but what about something harder to use like, say, anything on Windows other than MinGW or Cygwin?

For visual C/C++:

cl -Dlinux input.c

Of course, you might not want to be #define-ing linux on windows.
