i think it a stupid question but... could u try to downgrade the version of your glibc night?

if u wanna try doing it

I would replace it with a modified one instead of doing that, the problem is that apt always tries to install the latest version.

but my glibc version hasnt changed since march.
there was an update for glib tho

ok, i knew there was something with downgrading those libs

I was using sabayon linux for a little while (based off gentoo) and I updated glibc and gcc. I crashed every few minutes with that setup.

So I reinstalled Ubuntu, and crash much much less. So I think you are right about the glibc/gcc versions having something to do with it. I still crash quite a few times per day though I hope surak can use these logs and make it more stable. However, the windows version according to my friend crashes just as much as mine. So in my case, I don't think my crashes are linux specific.

I dont think i want to try that. The nvidia module is really working fine and i cant really get whats behind mesa.

yes i assume its the glibc
I downgraded glib which didnt change anything.

I stopped posting now cause im a little bit tired of it. Of course surak only does this in his spare time ... but maybe a litte sign that this thread is at least read?
Or some hints how to debug it "better" so a fix would be easier?

i noticed that since i've upgraded libc6 to 2.7-10, i've no more MALLOC_CHECK_ hack to do, and less crash (and a bit more FPS too ^^).

I don't know why but in the last time i crash every 5-10min, sometimes i have luck and can play 1-2 hours... I'm on debian lenny 64 bits updated. At the fresh install of my debian i have only 1 or 2 crash in one weekend. Does it come from debian update or regnum update, don't know but it's very difficult to play so !

I have a lot more if you want , before the game crash the cloth or some other thinks like weapons or hat... of some players become invisible. If i don't move at this moment the game don't crash. But when i move 2-3 seconds after this graphical bug... crash.

I testes Malloc 1 or 0, all the latest and beta Nvidia driver, nothing can help.

My computer:
Intel Core2duo E2160
2Go ram
Assus P5k pro
Nvidia 8600GT with 173.08 driver
Debian lenny 64 bits

It's a very nice game but could be very more attractive without all this repeat crash.
