However, all the positive changes were know by us before. NGD even "promoted" them to us in the "road to evasion" threads. But they never talked about other changes nor where they on test server before. That's a point NGD has to work: tell the community about all (or noone, but not just the good ones) upcomming changes before an update. Quote:

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT WALKING BACKWARDS, it is NOT about fort status on map. If you want to discuss that, START A THREAD. Your post is off-topic, and should be deleted. |

why do you scream at me? I did not talk only about this thread. There are many threads about running backward but noone about any positive changes. So the community at the whole (me included) just gives feedback to all negative points in a quite excessive way that it can be understood as whining. btw, this post is also off topic...like the post my previous post referred to.

Complaints. People quitting. In other words, Ngd not caring as much for the players as they should be. But I agree with God of silver and aric. When I first joined regnum I was thinking...meh...seems like a pretty good game. I did not care that no one spoke english (gave me a reason to practice my spanish skills). There was no lag. I leveled up at a pretty good pace compared to other games... For a while, I thought that this was the best game there was. Better than WoW. I played wow, shaiya, flyff, silkroad online, cabal, 2moons, guild wars, exteel, mabinogi, and many other games but I always ended up coming back to regnum. But then things started going downhill... I think it might have happened when ngd introduced fatigue. Or maybe it was when ngd hired so many new people. In retrospect, I suppose it does not matter when it happened or how, fact is, it happened. Regnum started to suck. Bugs became more common in every update (do the developers even check their own work?). Lag increased ( I have high speed dsl at home, and I still lag pretty bad in fort wars, I wonder if people on dial-up can even play this game). Ngd started making excuses. I remember reading about how a developer (chiko, I believe) apologized to katiechan that they can't do too much since they come from a poor country or something (I tried looking for the thread, but couldn't find it ) Well...fatigue hit, and I decided to take a break from regnum. I journeyed far and wide, tried out many games, and spent time crawling through forums. When I returned to regnum, a couple fault began to become a little more obvious. For one thing, regnum only is the only game where I have run into people saying "support <game company's name here>, buy premium". Ngd, needs us (well, our money, at least, dunno if they really do care about us...). Also, the people who support NGD (and I mean really support them) are still getting plagued by lag, crashes, bugs...etc... Why do they still believe? Perhaps they are thinking back on regnum's glory days (you know, that time when fatigue was just a joke, lag didn't exist, and crashes were not an epidemic). I dunno about the greater part of the community of regnum (which is still probably the nicest community I have ever run into), but you guys, think about it...does NGD deserve your loyalty? Your time? Your money? I don't believe that they deserve my money, its why I will never buy premium. I play regnum just to talk to the nicest damn community I have every met in a game. A community that is being preyed upon by a game company. Other game companies are successful (from what I have seen) because they know that if they sell a high-quality basic version of the game, people may spend money to buy premium items to enhance their gameplay. Things like: hair styles, cool looking armor/weapon sets (that don't break the game), potions that improve a specific stat permanently (although there is a limit to the number you can buy) marks for your guild (which are displayed next to your guild's name), as well as premium pets and mounts. Premium games usually have premium items that people buy to emboss their characters. Not regnum. Here the developers think they are clever and believe that rather than rather than make the premium items speak for themselves, NGD here messes with the game itself and forces the common player to buy premium. Anyone else notice that xp scrolls are not affected by fatigue, and that horses run so damn fast? Why was fatigue inplemented? High server costs and because ngd was looking out for the health of its players since it is not healthy to play games for a long time...for free. They saw a way to make money, and they took it, knowing full well that their loving players with spend money on the game they adore. Other games also advertise...on a lot of sites (*cough cough rapplez, WoW, mabinogi cough cough*)... Regnum spreads by word-or-mouth, (or in my case, by super bored people surfing the web for something to do, and suddenly finding regnum). I don't like the direction this game is going. I don't like how ngd has been behaving. I don't like it when people who first discover this game think..."hey I can play as long as I want for free!" and then come into this game and realize, yes they can play as long as they want, but they probably wouldn't want to play such a slow-paced, laggy, buggish game. All in all, regnum has a great community and a great pvp concept (realm versus realm, ingenious), but is a game help together by the patience and faith of the common player, and the fact that their friends play regnum too. I have noticed that since fatigue has been introduced I have been playing less and less regnum. I suppose I must thank ngd for something...they broke my regnum addiction...and I am thankful... I just hope one day they will find a way to make money without making their game unbearable to play. I will say I am quitting regnum, but I know eventually I will pop into the game, just to check up on my clanmates...and to see if they are alright. So... I don't quit...but I will just spend almost no time in regnum, which in the end, accomplished what I wanted it to do when I first joined... it took up my free time, introduced me to a lot of nice people (as well as not-so-nice people), taught me addiction, and showed me that no game is worth spending money on. Good-bye for now... PS: I really wonder if ngd reads more than the first line or two of a couple of threads in the forums. I doubt they will bother rereading this tread again. Hell, I bet they don't even read the suggestions section... Now though, I believe that they may start reading threads more often...just to give the illusion that they read all of them...Ciao for now...

The slow backward motion defies good sense and should be put back to what it was immediately. I played all my chars tonight and started a mage on the new server, and i can tell you that it is bad for all classes, and not just archers. Fort fights are a joke, with the retreating army moving like snails. Tactical retreats are a part of any war, but never would you expect an army to retreat as slowly as that... |

This is not a good change, for anybody. I don't believe it affects archers more than other classes. They are not the only ones to face s/c barbs. It is just as bad for a mage or another warrior when they have to move backwards like a snail as an express train with an axe hurtles towards them... |

This reverse speed change won't stand. Mages are totally defenseless in a 1 vs 1 against a hunter now- it is childs play to stay out of their attack arcs and make them waste spell after spell. No way that will be allowed to stand. (I won't even start on the ridiculously slow rotation speed of characters- it takes 4 seconds to spin 360 degrees, hahaha, THAT's realistic....not) This change TOTALLY screws over mages, most of all. And the SC monkeys totally benefit. The most overpowered subclass/setup in the game BEFORE the change just got WAY stronger. Hahahah, i wonder if anyone at NGD even plays the game. It sure seems like they don't. Last edited by Valorius; 08-06-2008 at 06:28 AM. |
