Yeah hence my original statements saying that the new fort system discourages players. If we had enough ppl to go out and take a fort we would. But it has broken down mainly into a hunting party if u have less than 8-10 players. Had I been wrong then we would see much more out in the Warzone say how we did back in August and September.
Another factor we have to contend with (besides time zones) is that some of the folks, at least on the Alsius side of Horus I have found, are still in elementary school so maybe playing less due to school times. Without an effective system to promote Regnum in the US and other English speaking countries it will be hard for the Horus server to really take off and get a determined user base. So we will sit where we stand currently. The fort update was just a good idea fairy and its being reflected in the lack of players in the Warzone. Had it been implemented to reflect the average user base to present a challenge it would have done much better than just being a reflection of the updates made to Ra. Also last point, not all of us are lvl 50 - not all of us care to be lvl 50, some of us are just trying to play a fun game that presents a challenge to the average player. Not the player that has no life and grinds all the time and has made Regnum a replacement for a social life. |

<.< could you imagine ngd making anything custom at all? the only differences between the realms are well really just the skin color on a couple of the race choices and npc names, besides the fact that one realm may have more quests than another or different quest items there is almost no diversity to the game except that which is made by the players i doubt anything will change in the future just because their fan base is griping... that would be... smart? and btw not all lvl 50's are lvl 50 because the dont have lives... i leveled using xim so that i could go to work and hang with friends and still keep up with my clan (actually ended up beating them to 50) but anyway you'll piss a lot of people assuming such things |

This thread has nothing to do with Horus. Its about the non-thought out patch that NGD has implemented into the game, and the funny thing is that they never listen to their players. If the majority say something is not right, or something is unfair and kills the game, usually (all the time) NGD won't do anything about it. So I gave up.

I guess I am one of the few that actually "likes" the new forts.. I like them because you have time to get to a fort and help your realmates. Before, there was no point even going to help friends sometimes; even if you had a horse. It also makes the fort door battles really fun. It is like the fight between areas/mod and all of those fun spells. Of course it would be better if Horus had more users, but I think the users will come with time. The game is still changing a lot, and you have to remember a lot of users are not playing as much, because school has started back up.
I think patience is the word that should be used here, and giving up won't solve a thing. Later

But on the weekends, when there is alot of people on, it does create much longer battles around the forts. When Alsius attacked Agg tonight with Ignis defending, we started out with 5-6 people. Over the course of the battle, another 4-5 people joined us. After the battle was over, we then had a zerg to take on the road through the other realms Strategically, it also makes the war zone a more static place, with the forts not changing hands as much. It also means that taking a fort in an enemy realm is a greater strategic advantage because you will probably hold on to it for longer. Hopefully this will also help concentrate people for more battles. When server population is low, it does mean that the war zone is more for hunting. But when the population is there, it can be lots of fun.

Great ... now Ignis is able to hold Aggers 6 hours straight.
And if they get bored because we can't beat them they start camping the save. What a glorious Patch.

Ok since we are all just bitching at this point how about we actually come up with some resolution that even if NGD dismisses, per usual, we can at least say we gave some constructive criticism. Topic Fort Doors: How about displace the near invulnerable doors HP and regen abilities to the guards. That way we fight the guards for 20 minutes instead of a dumb door. While this is more of a displacement it keeps intact the ability to catch up with ur friends in battle and it replaces the mundane door attacks with actually fighting against the AI enemy. It would also allow us to use our abilities against them. It would replace the hopeless feeling of banging on a door for 10 minutes while the guards respawn about 2 or 3 times. Topic Horses: Some folks, me included, would just say ban them from the Warzone. But that would be against NGD's business platform. So just ban the horses for Gold from entering the WZ. This would aide NGD in having players pay xim in order to ride into the Warzone and it keeps the server money pile there to continue the life of the game. While some folks would point out that this would eliminate some of the quick returns to forts, it also would revalidate the use of barbs for onslaught. The only thing I wouldn't have an answer for is how to deal with the culture of more hunting parties spawning now than fort war parties. Other than possibly putting guards at each bridge, 2 guards from each realm at opposing sides so u just cant cross into an opposing realm freely. Because honestly from a military tacticians perspective controlling bridge access is more important than the forts, there is only one way to cross water in this game. |

I think all guards should have a very slow attack speed with 1.1k normals and 5.5k hp with the armour points of a lvl 45 knight while the door is back down to its old hp and regen - seriously. They should give rp too. This would encourage people to actually target them, and they would actually be a risk to non-mages. Even now people would target a lvl 25 hunter more than guards doing 400 normals.

if you change the fort doors back to normal they will be extremely easy to take once again... only this time youd need atleast 2 - 3 people
keep guards distracted and have someone else beat down the door... after you're inside tag the flag and run since the guard canceling still isnt perfect a quick in/out would capture the fort the doors should be a little weaker, maybe, but not back to the way they were and the guards definately need to be upgraded |
