I voted " I don't care...." because I actually don't care.

Players who want to genuinely play and enjoy the game and actually have the attention span longer than a house fly, play through the shit. And there is a lot of it. All the way to 50 / 60.
Been so since the launch of the game, is so now.

The pansies will drop out no matter how much pre chewed food you feed them. Been here long enough to know this is true.

A GM is useful but not a necessity. As for the rest, I agree with Senivan. Having a GM as a pooper scooper is no excuse for NGD to ignore game issues that have existed for YEARS.

A GM should manage events and do policing according to a documented and transparent rule structure that is available to all. That's it.

I'd rather see developers online on haven more often, talking about updates and mechanics...

I also agree with Senivan on this case, but until they do, the only way to have people progress in the quests when a mob runs off to cliff dive and enjoy his own element or what not is to have a GM kill said quest mob and get it respawn where it should have been in the first place. I found it a bit frustrating that I had to kill 15 small spectral snakes when one of the two was off swimming. I am just glad I only had three huge snakes to kill for one of those was off swimming with his little brother. No GM on to report the situation to, either.

As far as 'that's it' is concerned, maybe in a perfect world (not to mention another game) but there is no such thing as a perfect world and it is not hard for anyone, be they a GM, GS or another player, to give advice and answer Questions for new players. During times when everyone is in a huge three-way battle there is little time for anyone to even acknowledge a newbie question as battle orders are being spammed across three or four chat screens at once.

Plus I am amazed at how often other players would rather give a new player a fish rather than teach them how to fish. GM's are more prone to do the latter, which is a good thing. For example yesterday a newbie was asking how to do this that and the other thing with all the answers having to do with hot-keys. I eventually told him to hit <esc> and click on Keyboard. He did not ask another such question after that because he now knew the answer himself.

Although answering questions like that is not an official part of a GM's duties, it does help and it also adds to the respect level of newer players for them. This is an important thing, one that many cops should learn to do. It is one reason I love the GMs and want to see them active once again in the game.

Finally, if a GM is active in chat, people tend to behave better in game. After all, who lights up a crack pipe while standing next to a cop? Just having them in game makes it so there is less policing needed.

I'd rather see them putting out updates and adjusting mechanics than seeing them talk about it.
