I grabbed this from the Gameplay Problems section as Thistle inadvertently posted it there.


As of now, the new client doesn't seem to accept keyboard input for chat under any tab or text commands such as /party.


Thistle's config
AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+
nvidia GeForce 9400 GT
memory - 1GB


Confirmed by Acknor on a different computer
core duo 2.93gHz E7500
nvidia 9800GT
memory - 2GB

Both machines running Ubuntu 9.10 32 bit

AMD Turion 64 X2 / 4GB RAM / ATI Radeon HD 3100 (using Catalyst 9.6 driver) / 64-bit Gentoo Linux

The last update introduced a regression: blue and red colored swathes moving across the ground in a repeated cycle (screenshot 1, screenshot 2). Effect is distracting enough to make gameplay unenjoyable.

I exited, deleted all resource files and restarted the client to download everything. Character selection started sooner than I thought and all textures showed white when I entered the game.

In this state, the game consistently crashes if I press V while in sight of an NPC or another player. The backtraces are similar and I've attached two of them here.

First SS shows how the graphics look when using safe mode.
Second SS shows how the graphics look when using Model Shader 2.0.

At me I have no shader option only fixed shader.

I have probably the same error, when using force safe mode and using the catalyst 9.11 driver. With the Catalyst 9.10 I have almost no graphical issues. I only noticed serious graphical issues with preliators. Sometimes the client crashs when switching from another application back to the ro client.

my system: AMD Phenom II X2 545 3.00 GHz, 2GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4650, Arch Linux 64-bit

Indeed, in my screenshots I'm in safe mode too.

I've just confirmed that shader models 2 and 4 don't have this problem.

I keep crashing when I press enter game

Intel core2 quad processor q9000 2.0ghz 1066mhz fsb
ati mobility radeon hd4670
4gb ddr3 memory
windows 7

I would like to upload some kind of a crash report but it's too big, can I send it somewhere?

edit: only happens with dx, when I use opengl it doesn't, (d7x it seems)

edit: 2 looks rather disturbing o_O

I used the auto detect feature on the start screen just to see what is does... It ran a video benchmark of my PC, which is good, but it chooses "fixed shader" which runs at 130 fps.

The issue is I cant pick a different shader now, "Fixed" is the only option...

(I gives me the option on the start screen to pick 2.0 or 3.0 but it still will only use "Fixed")

I want to use Shader 2.0, but I can't...

Intel Duo Core 2, 2.4 GHz, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon x2300, Vista 32-bit

Shader model is fixed for me too, its in Safe Mode. Can I not choose them, or is there a good reason for this? I dont get it. :/
