I'd have to agree, Tremulous is/was an excellent game. Until preteens overran us and made the game unplayable with their juvenile ways.

Let me explain!!!
Let me explain something...
To put a bit of substance behind the statement about PS players (and this is aimed at the 5% that spoil it for everyone else through their "culture of complaining") A small, but very vocal minority considered themselves uber-RPers and would piss and moan on the forums at every given opportunity if someone else's RP, conflict, etc. didn't gel with their interpretation of the settings. This would be fine... but when they were shown not to actually have substance to their bitching (because they were making unsupported assumptions about the 'settings') they'd start throwing out straw-man arguments and literally TRY to find something else to complain about it and it was a trend that was often exhibited by the same minority 'clique' of players. It was pathetic. And the GMs, well, some of them didn't help... Suspending all combatants (from both sides) up in the air, dropping them from a great height so that they all die... right before threatening to ban all the players... is a bad way to handle things, especially when there is no written rule outlawing the behavior they engaged in. If the developers don't want guild-wars that can spill into towns they should do something to stop it occurring with the game mechanics. In contrast, every time people do something wrong in Regnum, the devs seem to treat it as it being their responsibility to fix - and they usually do so promptly with a solution that suits everyone. Until the PS dev team can keep the peace under their own roof, I'll remain grateful that I left... I still see the same arguments and pissing matches even now, 5 months after the witch-hunt that made many of us leave. I miss a lot of the players though, but still.. I'm glad I found Regnum. Just wanted to drop by the Inn and say hello, all!
I'm new to RO, just popped into Alsius as Katta the White (dwarf warrior female) so I hope to meet some of you IG soon. I have a character in PS, really have no problems there, but then I stay away from the forums. I also drop into Guild Wars from time to time, but RO looks very promising so I am hoping to spend a great deal of time here. See you on the slopes! |

Well said, Drah. My experience with the PS GMs and devs was similar to yours. It makes me appreciate the NGD devs all the more.

it's really weird, because when I played (and I was probably against the settings too cause it has flaws) I didn't have any trouble with me rp'ing with people.
I know some of the gms from planeshift, and they didn't do anything wrong when I were playing, but I could be wrong, they suck now. Although I have heard something about why valorius was banned, seeing as he behaves now I'm probably most likely to believe that as no one has ever gotten banned for not playing along with the settings, if someone didn't like another ones rp style they got ignored, simply as that. Valorius was banned(this is what I heard) because when some character insulted her character he took it personally and started personal insults. Having encountered personal insults in regnum too (without proof) from this valorius I'm probably more biased towards this. |
