I don't think there are many players who like the conceptual changes of warmasters. For sure, some like new shiny armors, some like whatever, but that stuff isn't important. The gameplay is.

If there was a think that was killed in RO, it's unique players as it's was before.(EX:like Enio's 500 dmg TM,Beijing ,Fuerst unique SM setup). It's same with WM to many WM,it's to easy to became a WM. All have same setup/class. The game became random mess.A war look like a zerg that press random buttons vs a other zerg that doo some thing, because imunity to CC and other stuff disable 80% of spells. |

Am I the only one who like the WM update?
I remember that before the WM, Invasions were rare, now it's everyday. Yes it's almost only Ignis invasions. But why? Because they try. And with that much invasions and General killed, of course we have a lot of WM. WM powers are bad? They are great. Teleport are awesome. They cut the borring part of riding for going somewhere. And, WM update was only weeks ago, we have to wait more to see if it's realy a bad thing. In few weeks, EVERY realms will have more WM and fights will be more fair. When I'm connected, there is always some war and it's great. The only boring thing is the invulnerability for forts. I understand why NGD did this but I'm not sure it was the good thing to do. |

I'd say that's more to do with Invasion mechanics being made much easier, not war masters themselves.

lol, this would work, if
1. Population per tmz would get balanced. 2. The other realms wouldn't all just quit/go to another server/realm because they got tired of not being able to fight back to invasions, which for the major part of their players, happened during night, just because of the mechanics and badly distributed player numbers in that tmz...

It would be interesting to know how popular is this measure. For me, this is the worst.

Forum participants do not represent every player's opinion.
Not everyday. Remember when Alsius used to be immune for like 3 weeks? He does, but the long runs between forts to get to the RvR action was one of the reasons why my friends didn't like this game. I remember the times when there used to be no action at all. People were too lazy to move around and start something. Thanks to the teleports it's pratically possible to create fights everywhere and now old players can even teleport their low level friends directly to a fight. It also helps the ones who can't afford Ximerin to buy a horse. We sometimes avoid to get the second gem because of the invulnerability rule.

Do you seriously think non-participants think much differently ?

I saw how they do, and frankly this is clearly nothing to be proud of. Quote:
Check this thread about suggestions. Or just because people rush for nobles instead of gems...

The WZ has been shrinked to the fort areas only, the hunters have been made even more useless, pussies can flee battles whenever they want and with ease thanks to the teleports... Running to go to the forts was a part of what made this game dynamic, it also required organisation to avoid splits and to wait slowpokes. Now everything has become easy, static and limited to 9 battle areas (7 if a realm becomes immune) : teleport to fort, camp it, die, teleport again, zergs barely move. How can you dare saying it creates action everywhere while you always get teleported from a point to another avoiding a long way in the WZ ? And also, now people are too lazy to go to fight if there's no teleports around...

I voted No.
I understand NGDs reasoning for increasing the level cap and I reluctantly grind away when I am in the mood to. I have no issues with the cap being raised to 60 (other than incraese in power points) nor the insane amount of XP needed to reach it. The problem is with the warmaster skills themselves. I understand that some people don't like travelling long distances for a war, but some of the best gameplay I have experienced is while travelling to a fort. I can't remember the last time I have taken part in an open field battle or a bridge fight. With the ever increasing numbers of teleporters such battles will be history. Defending a doorless fort used to be good fun, but again, thanks to teleports these are slowly becoming extinct. Teleports should not be used to escape battles IMHO, but this is far too common. War banners need to be looked at, I quite like Scias' suggestion of different Warmaster skills for different classes. This will hopefully add some more variety to the different setups. Another huge problem is the amount of skills we can now have thanks to the increased level cap. This has led to pretty much identical setups for most classes, making the gameplay boring and predictable. The new invasion mechanics haven't really solved the problem of the old mechanics. Invasions are still about outnumbering your opponnents. All of this coupled with age old bugs has definitely decreased my enjoyment of the game. |
