I'll try it as soon as I find a gender scroll for RL :P.

Personally I'm not complaining too much, but I can see how people can complain. It's a bit too exaggerated, even if it's based on actual movement.

OK. The as the community the CORRECT way to deal with this, I feel, is a Poll.
Make this a POLL.
Everyone vote once.
Majority rules. Everyone else suck it up...
If animation gets reverted no complaints, if not Use the "E" key to keep the good pace....

Actually I'm not so much against the walking animation, but the turning animation just looks so gay now, and this time even gender independent: both animations are crap

I like the way the player turns their head to the direction you're turning, but it takes about 4 seconds to rotate 360 degrees.

What the hell is that? I can rotate at about 8x that rate in real life, and i'm just a regular guy.

Unless you want to turn 90 degrees every time you tap the arrow key, there isn't much that can be done about that as long as you're using WASD movement. Adding additional buttons for fast-turn and stuff would just make things too complicated.
