Barbarian or Knight?
I'm alrdy a level 10 warrior and have to fiqure out if i want to be a knight or a barbarian? ive herd the knight class is not as good as the barbarian class because its defense and leveling just isnt worth it. I would just like some feedback from experienced players from both sides on why i should choose either a barbarian or a knight. Thank you!

Knight is considered to be the most difficult and boring class to grind with and it probably is one of the least rewarding one too, once you have reached a higher stage.
I'd recommand barb, I've levelled one a bit too (only up to 37) but it went quite easily and quickly and it's fun to play in the warzone too, I think. Probably more than knight nowadays...

Hey there,
I can't speak for barbarian but i will tell you what i like and don't like about knights. For a list of pros: - I like having a high Hit Point reserve (this is close to where the pros end) - I like the general idea of being a tank for allies and taking the damage. - I actually enjoy the challenging gameplay as a knight especially being one of the slower moving classes and melee, not to mention doing hardly any damage if played correctly. When you kill someone it is generally a hard earned kill if you are in a true knight setup. - I like the versatility of the class. It can be set up to do a little higher damage with less defense and control, or can be in a high control setup with knock downs, dizzies, (theoretically) high defense. Cons(fasten your seatbelt, there are a lot of these at the present time): - Knight is probably the slowest class in the game to grind to level 50. - Due to many bugs and lag warriors have a hard time hitting their targets at melee range, what you see isn't always true...if you are right next to someone they may be behind you - Knights are rather slow passively. So it is a long run to get into melee range when the target keeps backpeddling and immobilizing or knocking you. - Knights are supposed to be tanks...which is kind of a fail since for a start lvl 50 knight armor is arguably the worst set of level 50 armor in the game, their armor points aren't really anything special. Their defensive buffs are a joke, they have maybe 3 and caution is shared with barbs. They don't tank....they pretend they can. They are slow enough that they can be easily left to pick off at the end of a fight and thus rendering them almost useless to the defense of their allies. They have no real spells to take the brunt of the damage off their allies. - A knight doesn't do damage much either. There are 'knarbs' who are knights that set up specifically to max their damage output. These are effectively wanna be barbarians with 100 more armor points and 300 more health. The damage doesn't even come close. So there is a little bit, I'm sure I left some out but I'm tired Hope this helps some. |

Knights are grossly underpowered and their defences have been diluted to such an extent that knights now hide behind front lines, far from ranged attacks. Knights have been nerfed repeatedly on each and every update applied to game over last 2 years. The ultimate nerf is having made it nearly impossible to shield bash an opponent into a dizzy state. Without an effective shield, all the knight does is die. Not to mention that a Knight pays a VERY high price in points and mana to manage his shield (precise block lasts only 30 seconds and usually fails to protect the knight). Mages kill anything that wears heavy armour easily. Knights have nearly no defence versus arrows and most level 43+ hunters will destroy a knight 50 without pulling so much as a sweat (Pets inflict way too much damage and the hunter runs at will, ambush can't be blocked, etc) Too bad though, the Knight is a beautiful fighting machine. Some classes use 3 spells only during a fight. The knight needs to punch, kick, disable limb, bash, block, hack, spawn caution, charge, block and south cross his way to victory. In the current state of the game, however, the Knight is by far, very far, the worst class in the game. You can thank the crybabies in these forums for this sorry state of affairs. Shame. Nylann |

I'm not going to quote the others as they make their points as they see fit.
I however see it a bit differntly. My first char was a lock, hes now 50, so time to grind up the second one -a knight- currently lvl 48. Heres the real breakdown: A barb is for damage. Thats 'what they do'. Thats how they are skilled, but they are therefore easier to kill. Knights are support class. They tank and protect the weaker classes, any one that says they don't has the wrong setup. To all my conj's still alive, your welcome. Properly skilled and played they are tough little buggers encased in steel. Their role should be played as above. But you can also knarb. I think people who have a hard time playing any class, do so because they chose something that doesn't fit into their playing style, and can't adapt to that new way of thinking/playing. In a fort war, I will usually try to stand between the enemy and the conjs. Without the conjs, life it hard. If you want the conj, ya gotta go through me. Contrary to the other posts, I personally don't get knocked down easily. I also have been tracking logs from fort battles and I have an 89% resist rate to mind squash [5]. Play a knight on ignis and I'll tell you my secret. Don't get me wrong, I die, ALOT. But when I do get knocked down and ultimately killed, it takes many of the enemy to do so. Meanwhile the barbs and locks and even archers are exacting a precious price on the enemy for being focused on me. I guess in short, play what you feel. Are you an aggressive player that needs to spill blood? or do you see the benefit in tactics, support, planning and restraint? |

A knight can have a variety of setups and be a very fun class to play in war. Barbarians hit hard.

I have barbarian, but I also started knight now.
I agree that some people claming that knight is weak, cannot play it. The role of knight is to protect and help by knocking down enemies and disturbing them. |
