New Technology - Public test 4
Hello everyone,
In order to avoid installation and resource problems we created a separate installer for the tech update. From now on to connect to Amun you will need to download the NT installer from here: Windows: http://download01.regnumonline.com.a...ler/ROI_nt.exe Linux: http://download01.regnumonline.com.a...ler/ROI_nt_l32 http://download01.regnumonline.com.a...ler/ROI_nt_l64 This will be a separate installation and you will be prompted to install directx automatically (other libraries are included also). PLEASE don't try to log in to the public servers (RA - Horus - Muspell, etc) with this version of the game (you would break it and may have to re-install) Do not install on the same folder as before Included in this version: - First round of performance optimizations (you should have better FPS specially in safe mode) - Better overall stability - Several bug fixes Please post your feedback including as always your hardware configuration (processor, memory, video card, operating system) in this thread and don't forget to send your dump files if you crash. my system: AMD Athlon X2 1.9 GHz, 2 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3200 (Catalyst 9.10), Arch Linux 64Bit
The client crashs after choosing my character, during or after loading recources. On windows 7 i can play on Amun. The frame rate is pretty good. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/526...9102401144.jpg http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/492...9102401245.jpg (with force safe mode about 58 fps) Last edited by Cuchulainn; 10-23-2009 at 11:32 PM. I tried to install testing version into new folder to keep it separated. Install went good. There is still one problem - all servers are shown in launcher. Horus is selected by default so launcher gets updated maybe with Horus copy of it. If i select Amun after it it gets updating again but something messes up.
After this confusion i got testing version files updated in my production copy. Maybe launcher have some global config files and got messed up. It will be alot better for this testing only version to show only Amun in launcher, so this problems are gone.

Wierd really.
So I installed it fine, got onto the NGD Studio logo bit and then it started uploading resources. It got to 24 of 28 resources then crashed on me. That was the first time. Between closing that window and re-opening the launcher to try again, you had added some more resources. I still get that little reddish box (which didnt happen first time round): The game window opens up regardless, but it completely black. No NGD logo, uploading resources, anything. Then I eventually settle on this: No point in trying to go further, so I close the window. Microsoft XP Home Edition, Dell Dimension DM051, Intel (R), Pentium (R), D CPU 2.66GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM and Physical Address Extension.

Didnt know what it was before, after doing some wikipedia-ing and searching, my graphics card is Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family. Hope thats right O.o
I tried Open GL without safe mode and Ive got a better picture now. I could see the little Regnum box before the game loaded up clearly, when I loaded up it was almost like static for a second, the I got this: Its like Direct3D is missing the graphics Open GL has and vice versa. So Ive just clicked on the Start Game button, resources load up nicely, then: Colour overload. Although at least one window is fine. So its possible for me to get in there now, but the graphics are haywire. Ill try it with Force Safe mode in Open GL... Well, Force Safe mode is better as its technically playable now. I can see where Im going, but the graphics are still everywhere. This is Fisgael - the sky towards the Initiation Zone Teleport is multicoloured and the graphics on NPC's varies from one to another. Some are fine, others are like me, most are in between with no faces or hats. Now for Force Safe mode in Direct3D... Gives me the same results as without Force Safe mode in Direct3D. (The previous post). Could you tell me how to find out my FPS in-game so I can tell you later on in the updates? Hope this has been some help to you! Youve certainly been helpful to me, go Chilko! ^_^
