Marksman vs Hunters

I was looking through some of the higher ranked players and on RA there are far more hunters than marksman. While on the German servers mmarksmen seem to have the upper hand.

I imagine that the two classes are pretty well balanced but I wonder what the story is with the difference.

rankings only indicate the time you invest in the game. not the balance.

A balance indication would be how many rp you get in the same time on different classes.
But even that is flawed as you can get more rp by aura leeching than by killing

A hunter hunting (?) can do hundreds of rps in a very short period of time.

A marks hunting rarely finds someone, or if he does they are like 50. And in fortwars you dont have auras to leech, just a couple of areas (that will probably get blocked) and thats it. You're left finnishing enemies and getting 2-3 or so rps (the rest is for conj barbs and knights).

RP doesn't even reflect time in game anymore.

You can get more RP in 20 minutes of camping syrtis beach save with 30 lvl 50s than you can in 2 hours of hunting.

RP is completely and utterly meaningless now. It should be eliminated.

It always has been meaningless Val. I remember the days you could get 1000 RP in 30 mins at trelle...

It occurs today still. I get more RP killing people in Alsius trying to kill levelers then I do actually going hunting or to fort wars.

I look at RPs in fort wars to know if I played well, usually when I'm killed three times at Herbred with just 4 RP won it's because I play stupidly

I think the way RP are calculated should be improved (and it's a really hard work). Maybe we should know other stuff like RP/hour or RP/death ?
