ATi + Linux = crash due to mouse?

First off.
Regnum is a great game, thanks alot

Well here is the problem, Regnum runs on Linux using nVIDIA just great, but if you have ATi (whose drivers are a bit behind) you can't play on anything other than
[Failsafe Mode]

As soon as you activate some FXs or take any setting above LOW the game crashes upon entering the world giving this message in the Error log

Code:

[RenderizerGL][renderizer_gl_x11.cpp(268)] BadCursor (invalid Cursor parameter)

Everything else works great, it's just that problem.
